For the past 12 years, Yamaha digital mixing systems have played an important role in helping us deliver The Experience in Lagos, one of the world’s largest gospel concerts.
In 2018, Yamaha did a post on the role their audio mixing equipment played in the event, highlighting the introduction of PM10 into the project. Eight years after their original post our work at The Experience has again been featured by Yamaha, this time concentrating on how the brand's involvement in the event has developed and how we've continually integrated their new technologies into our workflow.
This latest case study takes a closer look behind the scenes at the 20th edition of the event, where more than 500,000 people attended across the 12-hour production where our team worked alongside the House On The Rock's technical crew to deliver another huge show.
Covering the evolution of the audio setup, this article talks about the RIVAGE PM10 and DM7 systems, the move to a fibre-based network and how the technology has developed alongside the event over the years.
There are also some great insights from our MD Steve Davies and House on the Rock's Head of Audio, Ebenezer Odunlami on the challenges of delivering a production of this scale and why reliability is so important.
A huge thank you to Yamaha for featuring the project and for their continued support both in the UK and Nigeria.
