Did you know that if someone appears to have swallowed their tongue, all you need to do is tilt their head back and lift the chin with two fingers to open the airway - no keys, pens, or any other objects needed?

This is just one of the life-saving insights shared at our latest Upskills session, lead by Elina Rashkova - Senior Product Designer by title, mountain lover by nature - and our guest lecturer Stanimir Yordanov - certified mountain guide. They took us through mountain essentials and a hands-on First Aid demo: from reading trail markings and packing the right gear, to performing CPR and managing bleeding and trauma.

It's important to upskill not only our tech skills, but our life skills, too. The only thing left to figure out is: which peak we're doing for the next teambuilding?

As part of the career orientation programme under Moldova's Model Schools Initiative — led by the Ministry of Education and Research and supported by UNDP Moldova, the European Union, and the Government of Norway — we opened our doors to 27 students from the south of Moldova, and we're really glad we did.

Our colleagues Carolina Pavliuțchii, Marinela Lupusor, Dorina Slovineanu, and Alexandra Granici got real with the students — no filters, just honest talk about their journeys, daily work, and what it actually takes to build a career in tech.

What happens when your AI doesn't know your business? It hallucinates. It gives confident answers based on outdated info. And it has no idea your internal policies even exist.

This week, our Principal Data Engineer Martin Enev took to the stage at Sofia University to deliver a lecture on Knowledge Bases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to the next generation of AI engineers.

Martin walked students through the core limitations of large language models - from knowledge cutoffs and hallucinations to the risks of feeding sensitive internal data into public AI tools - and explained how RAG bridges that gap. The approach connects a language model to your real data: it searches your documents (policies, procedures, FAQs), retrieves the most relevant chunks, and grounds the generated answer in actual, up-to-date sources. He covered the different types of knowledge bases, how vector embeddings and semantic similarity search work under the hood, and walked through a concrete Azure-based technology stack - from Blob Storage and SharePoint as data sources, through Azure AI Search for indexing and retrieval, all the way to GPT models for final answer generation.

Martin wrapped up the session with a live demo and an open Q&A. Real business cases, real insights - thank you, Martin, for sharing your experience with the future tech talents!

This April, something special happened across our centres at Amdaris, an Insight company. 💛
From Bristol to Chișinău, Timișoara, București, and Sofia, one thing united us all: a very serious Easter Egg Hunt — followed by plenty of creativity, laughter, and more sweet treats than we could count. 🥚

Our Bristol team took the spirit even further, raising nearly £300 for Refugee Action through a charity raffle. Brilliant effort. 🙌

Whether through charity, creativity, or the hunt for the perfect Easter treat, it's been wonderful to see our Amdarians and their little ones come together this Easter — to celebrate, laugh, and create memories that go well beyond the office walls. 💙

This weekend, some of our exceptional Amdarians from Bulgaria proved that in the most beautiful way — by running the Sofia Half Marathon 2026 together, start to finish. 💙

A huge shoutout to our amazing runners: Hari Stoyanov, Viktor Dochev, Boyan Kraev, Zhivka Shtereva, and Andrey Mitev. No matter the distance, they kept pace with each other, pushed each other forward, and crossed that line as one team. Just like they do every day at work.
This is the Amdaris spirit. And we are so, so proud. 👏

Last weekend, our exceptional Amdarians from the Moldova office, together with our partners at Hai Moldova NGO, planted Black Pine saplings with protected roots on degraded land in Sociteni, Ialoveni, turning a struggling patch of earth into the beginnings of a green space for the whole community. 🙌

This afforestation initiative is about more than just trees. It's about restoring the land, contributing to a healthier environment, and leaving something meaningful behind for future generations.
It's also a reflection of our ongoing commitment to care for the planet and the communities we're part of — to protect, nurture, and give back. Step by step, tree by tree, we're planting for a greener, more sustainable future. 🌍

When a certified PMP, Scrum Master, and Product Owner with 8+ years of experience as a Delivery Manager and Team Lead speaks at Sofia University, students listen.

Boyan Kraev delivered a lecture on how we approach software development at Amdaris, an Insight company, sharing real business scenarios and practices from the field.

He explained the key project governance elements, core project estimating techniques, Agile principles and how to effectively manage project teams. Boyan also explored what AI looks like in practice today - from co-pilots to rapid prototyping - and what that means for the way teams deliver software in 2026.

This smiling man is Borislav Hristov, Delivery Lead, and knows perfectly well the difference between a Product Owner, Project Manager, Product Manager, and Delivery Lead - and he really wanted to explain it to us.

What followed was not just a presentation, but a real debate: what are the different perspectives, best practices and team dynamics between the product-oriented roles? Where do responsibilities overlap - and where do they fall through the cracks?

At Amaris, an Insight company, the Delivery Lead position is uniquely multifaceted, blending project management, people leadership, Scrum Master duties, agile facilitation, and day-to-day operational coordination.
It is not an easy job, and as Bobi put it: "Don't forget to send some love to your DL!"

Most people talk about . Ion Butmalai, our Senior Data Engineer and one of the most quietly original thinkers on the Amdaris team, builds the infrastructure it runs on.

Ion’s story begins in finance. Armed with an MSc from TiSEM in the Netherlands, he spent his early career in asset management, using statistical models to forecast stock prices and stress-test investment strategies. That foundation gave him something rare: a deep mathematical understanding of why models behave the way they do, not just how to run them. His curiosity then took him through healthcare AI and into data engineering before leading him to what has become his true frontier: designing the architecture that makes AI genuinely operational.

Now he is leading a project that puts that philosophy into practice, building an AI system that gives businesses a complete, intelligent map of their own data, so that anyone in the organisation can ask complex questions and get meaningful answers in plain English. No technical expertise required. No barriers. Just clarity at scale.

There is a perception that AI is a silver bullet. But applications built without a clear understanding of the business and the right architecture do not become smart — they become inefficient systems that are difficult to scale and sustain.

His advice to businesses exploring AI is equally direct: slow down before you speed up, understand the architecture, involve the right people early, and never mistake motion for progress. For Ion, the next frontier is not cheaper code. It is better thinking.
