“[W]e endeavour to work to the principle that if any person finds they cannot engage or interact with what we are designing and producing, the correct word is ‘unusable.’

If we all start to apply that simple shift of perspective when asking: Is this design usable? — then we move to a mode of working that really works for everyone — an approach that all should be eager to develop further, continue to apply universally to our work, and share as a paradigm methodology.”
Cooper, Walsh and Walsh

This book focuses on the inclusive design of digital interactives for visitors and staff, one segment of museums’ larger program offerings.

Access Smithsonian, the central accessibility office for the Smithsonian Institution, initiated this collection of essays in order to spur innovation, encourage information sharing, and motivate cultural organizations around the world to consider accessible and inclusive digital interactive design as an essential component of their greater DEAI efforts.

Crystal clear UX, design and functionality makes applications used, loved and efficient. But what’s your best route to get there? No-code, bespoke or cross-platform?

We offer full stack services, but for many people and purposes a cross-platform solution like React is perfect. For example, for the Cropper game we used React and React Native development for seamless desktop and mobile delivery.

Making complex assessments simple, clear and engaging
Before investing time, energy and space into biomass cultivation, land managers need to know if it’s worthwhile. But assessing the many factors has been very complex - until now. The Envirocrops project is building an online tool to support and investigate the suitability and profitability of growing perennial energy crops.

One part of this project is Cropper - “A great little game with a good challenge”, aimed at those new to the subject, and early secondary school STEM lessons: https://envirocrops.com/game

Key evidence supports award of £500,000 investment into public space infrastructure.

By illuminating existing park paths at nightfall, the City of Edinburgh Council aims to enhance the perceived safety of its parks and encourage their use as sites of connection, to increase adoption active travel and public transport journeys.

We built a robust data set and conducted analysis to provide evidence for and focus to the investment. As investment is delivered into the parks, the city's residents will be able to reap the associated health, economic and environmental benefits.
