Regulation 19, built into your care worker application form
Schedule 3 of the Regulated Activities Regulations asks for a full employment history, with a written explanation of any gaps.
It sits alongside proof of identity, a criminal record certificate and information about relevant health conditions. Every one of them has to be on file for every carer you employ.
The CareOS default registration template asks for it on the form, along with right to work, two references and health and convictions declarations. Gaps in employment have to be explained on the form.
On approval, the applicant's details and referees carry across to their staff record, so nothing is typed twice. References are tracked from sent to completed. Clear to Work is the final check before a carer can be assigned visits.
That's what care management software for UK domiciliary care agencies should hold before a first visit.
