We’re so proud to welcome our new partner, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA to the Purity family.

As one of the UK’s youngest air ambulance charities, SCAA plays a vital role, especially in a country where mountains, glens and remote communities mean help can be hard to reach. Sadly, lives are still lost in Scotland simply because critical care can’t arrive in time.

We’re absolutely delighted to support their mission and help raise awareness of the lifesaving difference SCAA makes across Scotland.

SCAA also becomes the 4th air ambulance charity to partner with us, a reflection of the knowledge, care and experience our fundraisers and back-office team bring to this important cause.

Excited to see where the next couple of months take us!

It’s time to meet our fundraisers! 🙌 Today we’re highlighting Judith Maybey, one of the driving forces in our fundraising team.

Judith is a dedicated fundraiser and always works hard to ensure she gets the best she can out of the campaign she’s working on. Her enthusiasm and relentless energy make her a leading member of the fundraising team.

We asked Judith a few questions — here’s what she had to say:

📞 What’s the key to building a genuine connection over the phone?
👉 Paying attention to what the supporter is telling you. Referring back to what they’ve shared — their experiences or a challenge they’ve had — strengthens connection and builds trust. Supporters like to feel heard and included.

🧠 What mindset helps you stay positive throughout a shift?
👉 Reminding myself of the positive difference we’re making. Building strong relationships and raising awareness is just as important as raising funds. Be kind to yourself and avoid negative thinking.

💬 How do you handle rejection without getting discouraged?
👉 I see every call as a learning opportunity. Rejection isn’t a reflection of you — it’s usually about the supporter’s own circumstances. Focus on how you approach the call, not just how it ends.

🌍 Dream holiday destination?
👉 An African safari — to see the wildlife and take in those beautiful landscapes. One day...

🎬 Favourite way to unwind after work?
👉 Watching films with my children.

🗣 If you could master one new skill instantly, what would it be?
👉 To speak and write in other languages.

🦋 We’re delighted to welcome our new Partner, Butterfly Conservation, to the Purity family and we are excited to support them in raising awareness of the UK’s butterfly emergency by joining them in this year’s Big Butterfly Count.

Butterflies aren’t just beautiful, they’re pollinators, part of the food chain, and a vital indicator of biodiversity. But with 80% of UK species in long-term decline, they’re facing a perfect storm of threats.

The Big Butterfly Count runs until this Sunday, so there’s still time to take part and help build a picture of how our butterflies are doing:

When we launched Purity on 1 August 2017, our very first fundraising call ended in a pledge. The pledge was secured by Tania Akins on behalf of Greenpeace UK, and we're proud to say both are still with us today.

Since then we've delivered:

It’s time to meet our fundraisers! 🙌 Today we’re featuring the amazing Claire Shipley.

Claire is one of our most dedicated fundraisers. She loves working on medical charities and has been a leading voice on our Prostate Cancer UK for years. 🩺 You’ll always find her going the extra mile to stay informed and bringing real passion to every call.

We asked Claire a few questions. Here's what she told us.

🧠 What mindset helps you stay positive throughout a shift? 🧠
Remembering that every conversation can have a positive impact, not only raising funds for the charity, but raising awareness and giving support. If the supporter feels valued and heard, every call’s a winner.

📞 What’s the key to building a genuine connection over the phone? 📞
Really listening to the supporter, responding to what they’ve said with care and understanding. Being passionate about what we do.

💬 How do you handle rejection without getting discouraged? 💬
Understanding not everyone can support financially and that the person I’m speaking with might be having a bad day. Remembering there’s always a new call and a new day.

A huge shoutout to Andy, our Head of Fundraising, for raising £1,330 for The Brompton Fountain through his FOSU football league! ⚽🎉

FOSU (which, in case you’re wondering, stands for Fat. Old. Sh*t. Unfit.) is a community league providing a fun and inclusive environment for those who might not otherwise play football. Be advised that to qualify, you must fit at least one of those boxes.

Meanwhile, The Brompton Fountain supports seriously ill children at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, providing vital resources, funding medical equipment, and improving hospital facilities.

Nice one, Andy! Such a brilliant cause! 🙌 👏
