Same curve on the outside and the inside is why it looks off.If you're building your own website, here's one that'll bug you once you've seen it.
You put a box inside a card. You round off the corners on both so it looks nice and soft. And something's not quite right, but you can't put your finger on what.
It's the corners. If both have the same curve, the gap between them gets fatter at each corner. Your eye spots it even when you don't.
The fix is a bit of subtraction. Take the card's corner size, take away the padding, and that's your inside corner.
So if your card has 24px corners and 8px of padding, the box inside gets 16px.
And if the padding is bigger than the corner, the inside goes completely square. That's correct, even if it feels wrong.
Have a look at your homepage. There's usually at least one.
