Hello Friday!

It’s been a pretty busy one this week - I sense lots of you are getting your Autumn prep on with scratch cards, candle dust covers and vouchers being the week’s big hitters.

While I haven’t fully descended into pumpkin spice madness, I’m feeling it’s on the cards very soon 🍂 is it time to send Richy up the attic for the Autumn decs? Maybe next week.

I think we all know which posters / flyers in particular I’m calling out here 👀 who hasn’t been to an event this summer with a brightly coloured pixelated banner?

Part of the problem is so many people are accepting the first thing that Chat GPT spits out, it thinks that’s what everyone wants and spits it out even MORE often - meaning even more businesses are handing out the exact same piece of artwork with a slight variation of details.

If you’re going to use AI for your design inspiration, feed it a bit more, ask it to make changes, tell it more about your business, your clients, and it could surprise you with something that stands out. From there, if you love it, we can recreate it so it’s actually suitable for print.

I promise, we’re not here to AI bash, it’s useful for a lot - but there’s no point paying for print if it’s not going to grab people’s attention - it’s just defeating the object ❤️

We know it’s difficult to imagine what you want your stationery to look like, and AI is amazing for bringing what’s in your head to life, we love that. But, it’s not ready for print.

That lifestyle mockup it’s given you? We can’t print from that. It needs creating from scratch in a format suitable for print.

What about the ready-to-print a5 flyer design with 3mm of bleed in high resolution you just generated?

Lies. AI loves to tell you it’s done something when it hasn’t, and if you don’t actually know what DPI and bleed means, you won’t be able to tell that it’s lied. We can tell, immediately. Especially when it says it’s A5 and has output a bloody square.

But rather than refuse to work with your stationery mockups, we’ll recreate them, properly, so your business gets the high quality output it deserves ❤️

Full design is included with all of our flyer & brochure packages, and we’re happy for you to provide an AI generated mockup as an example of what you’d like, and we’ll then recreate this as a high quality, print ready flyer for you.

Ok so we may have a slight problem here… and I need your help. I’m in love with this oil paint effect design for our planners but upon reviewing the video, I think the print might be a little *too* good.

Would you expect this planner to have an oil paint texture or would you expect it to be printed?

Obviously it will be mentioned in the listing that it’s print but as we all know over on I’ll be a cold day in hell before people start actually reading the item description…

So. What do you think?
