But the basketball isn't really the story.

What caught my attention is what sits behind that seemingly simple shot: a machine seeing the world around it, calculating what needs to happen, controlling its body and then turning that decision into a physical action.

That's a much bigger deal than putting a ball through a hoop.

We've become used to AI that can write, draw, translate, analyse data and answer almost any question we throw at it. But most of that intelligence still lives behind a screen.

Robotics changes the equation.

A physical machine doesn't get to simply generate the right answer. It has to deal with distance, movement, balance, timing, force and all the wonderfully unpredictable things that happen in the real world.

🔥 Behringer Poly D: Sometimes More Really Is More 🎶

Technologists 🙋🏻is the Behringer Poly D one of the most interesting analogue synths around? I’d say it definitely deserves a conversation.

At first glance, it looks familiar. Then you discover what’s going on under the hood: four analogue oscillators, a Moog-inspired architecture, a powerful filter, a sequencer, an arpeggiator and plenty of room to make some seriously big sounds.

🎛️ The real magic is in those four oscillators. Start stacking, detuning and pushing them together, and the Poly D can go from warm and musical to huge, aggressive and slightly unpredictable in seconds.

And that's exactly why I find it so interesting.

Yes, your computer can probably give you a thousand synths for the price of a coffee subscription. And yes, many of them sound fantastic. But there’s something different about having a physical instrument in front of you, reaching for a k**b and immediately hearing the sound change beneath your fingers.

No menus. No scrolling through 847 presets called “Dark Analogue Dreams 07.” 😂 Just k**bs, oscillators, filters and the opportunity to make something completely your own.

The Poly D isn't trying to be everything. It’s about getting you to play, experiment and push the sound until something unexpected happens.
That’s where the fun begins.
