📱 Lost or Stolen Phone? This One Number Could Save You a Headache! 📱
Most smartphones have a unique identification number called an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). Think of it as your phone's fingerprint.
If your phone is ever lost or stolen, having your IMEI number recorded can help your mobile network provider identify the device & may assist the police with their enquiries. It can also be used to block the handset from being used on UK mobile networks.
🔍 To find your IMEI number:
1️⃣ Open the phone dialler
2️⃣ Enter * #06 #
3️⃣ Your IMEI number will appear on screen
📝 Take a screenshot, write it down, or store it somewhere safe (not just on the phone itself!).
It's one of those things nobody thinks about until they need it... a bit like remembering where you put the Christmas decorations or that mystery drawer full of cables. 😄
💡 Bits & Bytes Tip: While you're checking your IMEI, make sure you've also enabled Find My iPhone or Find My Device on Android. They can be invaluable if your phone goes walkabout.
