As this week is National Stationery week I thought I'd give you a quick tour of the shop so you can see for yourselves some of the things I stock.

I tried doing a commentary as I did the video but failed each time 🙄 (not my comfort zone) so most of this one is silence. Another day maybe 😂 (I've also been up since 3.30am and have had about 1 hour of sleep 😴).

I got my dates mixed up and it it tomorrow (TUESDAY) afternoon when I am closing early (hospital appointment), and NOT Wednesday (poster is updated).

I think my age is catching up on me 🙄

Just WOW!!!

Who'd have thought that when I opened the shop door on 15th April 2006 that I'd one day be celebrating having the shop 20 years later 😲

Yes, today sees me at this huge milestone for the business. All those years ago, and with assistance from a few others, I set out in to the world of retail stationery once more (yes, I've been in the industry even longer - over 30 years). I think it has turned out okay 😆

My biggest thank you is to all of you who have supported me over these 20 years. If you hadn't then I wouldn't be here writing this thank you. Who knows what job I would be doing instead.

Hopefully there will be a few more years yet. Who knows. Maybe one day it will be 30 years 😀

On Saturday night I attended the annual Braintree Lions Club charter night dinner, that was held at Gosfield Golf Club.

I have been a member of the club for about 37 years (including many years in the youth part, called 'Leos').

During the evening the club President surprised me with a special award. The award is called a Melvin Jones Fellow (named after the founder of the organisation), and was a thank you from the club members for the years of service that I have given to the club and to the local community.

Over the years I've done so many amazing things. Some of the local ones that my club do include: The Real Ale Festival; The Tom Dix Train; Quiz Nights; Race Nights; Plant Sales; Easter Egg Raffles (currently one is in the shop 😀); Collected thousand of pairs of spectacles, and recycled thousands of printer cartridges.

If you ever want to know more just pop in to the shop. I might just tell you 😂

This coming week I have 2 days when the shop will be closed for part of the day.

TUESDAY 24th - I will be attending a funeral, and so the shop will be closed for approximately 2 hours. I may be back before 2.45pm but I am not guaranteeing it.

SATURDAY 28th - I will only be open in the morning. After that the shop will be closed as I will be off to attend a wedding.

Yet another addition to my range of Legami pens.

This time it is the Teddy Bear 🙂

This pen writes in Red ink and is also refillable (sorry, I don't currently stock the red refills). As with all of the other pens within the range they are also erasable.

Time to add this one to your collection 🤔

While I think about it I'd best let you know when I will be closed over the Christmas holidays.

As always I'll be closed from half way through Christmas Eve, but this year I will be reopening a few days later than normal - on Monday 5th January 2026.

I wish you all the very Merriest of Christmases (and if you don't celebrate it just have a fantastic time), and thank you for your support this year. It's been tough, but I'm still here 🙂
