This International Women’s Day, we’re not going to pretend we’re something we’re not.

The event production and technology industries are still heavily male-dominated, and our Amplitude team reflects that in many ways.

We’ve spent some time thinking about what we should say today — questioning whether it’s our place to speak at all.

Our female colleagues reminded us that polished statements or token gestures aren’t what matter. What matters is the conversation - one that everyone can take part in — and building a workplace where people can do their best work and build lasting careers.

We’re proud of the women who are part of our team across leadership, operations and finance, and of the contribution they make to our business every day.
For us, progress shows up in the culture we create — trust, flexibility, and an understanding that real life doesn’t stop when work starts. That includes recognising that careers and family life often run side by side — and building the flexibility that allows both to succeed.

Our industry still has work to do to encourage more women into production, technical and leadership roles. We’re committed to being part of that change by supporting the people in our team today and helping create opportunities for the next generation.

Last week, Matt and Dan attended a special appreciation dinner at Bradford Live to celebrate the dedicated supporters of Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.

It was an exceptional evening spent in the company of the innovative businesses and individuals who have been instrumental in backing this landmark initiative. Between the insightful conversations and the impressive live performances, the event served as a brilliant reminder of the creative energy driving our city forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the evening. It was a privilege to connect with so many people involved in making this vision a reality.

Last month, we delivered a seamless internal hybrid event at Ofcom’s London offices. Our specialist technicians were on-site to provide expert consultation and comprehensive production support throughout the proceedings. This included the installation of a bespoke branded stage and set, alongside professional vMix mixing and multi-PTZ camera coverage. By integrating these high-end technical solutions, we ensured a clear and consistent experience for both the in-person audience and remote participants.

What a week. From the first delegate checking in at Manchester Central to the final sessions here at the Deansgate Hotel, it’s been a massive team effort from the Amplitude crew.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes handling everything from the full event branding and signage to the technical AV setup and delegate management. It’s been a privilege to help create the space for such important global conversations.

There’s something satisfying about seeing an idea go full circle. One of our key deliverables on this project was to create the event brand and identity. The brief was simple - showcase the beautiful range of biodiversity found here, across the British Isles.

The talented team of designers and creatives at Amplitude have brought this brief to life, led by Chris Chapman, from the initial concepts and proofs all the way through to the final printed installations onsite. We collaborated with Manchester based illustrator, Louise French, who infused her unique style into the concept, and of course, our clients at DEFRA ensured the science behind the wildlife was correct.
I think we can all agree, the final imagery looks stunning! Never underestimate the importance of an event identity.

Today marks the formal opening of the IPBES 12 Plenary at Manchester Central. As delegates from across the globe arrive and settle into the first official sessions, the energy throughout the venue is exceptional.

Kicking off the event was a performance by Bionic in the Wire, which serves as a unique reminder of the intricate biodiversity being discussed this week. We are proud to facilitate such a significant event that bridges the gap between science and global policy.

Day two on site at Manchester Central marks a significant milestone as we officially welcome more than 500 stakeholders for the IPBES 12 Stakeholder Day. This session is a vital precursor to the main plenary, bringing together scientists, indigenous leaders, and civil society members to collaborate on the week’s agenda.

Our on-site teams are managing a high-volume registration process to ensure a seamless arrival for all delegates. Simultaneously, our technical crews are stationed across the venue, configuring meeting rooms and fine-tuning presentation systems to support a day of intensive discussions and knowledge sharing.

It is a privilege to facilitate this gathering of global expertise as we move closer to the formal opening of the plenary tomorrow. We look forward to supporting the vital work being done here to bridge the gap between biodiversity science and policy.

While 2024 was a year of growth, 2025 saw Amplitude reach new heights. From securing long-term contracts to delivering technical production for high-security national exhibitions and major cultural milestones, it has been a monumental year for the team.

Here is a look back at our 2025 highlights:

March: National Guardian Freedom to Speak Up Conference
We supported the National Guardian’s Office at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Our team provided the technical infrastructure for this vital event, helping healthcare leaders discuss the importance of speaking up within organisational culture.

April: Operational Delivery Profession (ODP) Awards
Amplitude supported the Government ODP Awards, celebrating the frontline staff who keep the country running. We managed the full event suite, including pre-event registration, on-site badge printing, photography, and videography.

April: UKAEA Official Event Partnership
A significant milestone was securing a two-year event management contract with the UK Atomic Energy Authority. As the sole supplier for event management at the Culham Campus in Oxford, we are proud to support their pioneering work in nuclear fusion energy.

August: Army Expo 25
For the fourth consecutive year, we worked with the Ministry of Defence on the Army Expo in Edinburgh. Our team handled full production management, including marquees, staging, AV support, and secure on-site badge printing.

September: Turner Prize 2025
As a Bradford-based company, being a Major Sponsor of the Turner Prize during the UK City of Culture year was a particular highlight. We delivered technical production at Cartwright Hall and the Awards Dinner at Bradford Grammar School, including full lighting, sound, and the creation of ‘The Beacon’.

December: WYFRS HQ Opening
We concluded the year by supporting the official opening of the new West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Headquarters. We provided a complete production package,lighting, audio, video, rigging, and marquees, to help launch this modern facility.
