Whilst the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) is not aware of any current specific threats to UK organisations, it does advise to take steps to reduce the risk of falling victim to a cyber-attack following Russia's attack on Ukraine. Here are some basic and crucial areas you can check without any technical assistance:-
1. Are the latest updates installed on your computers, particularly Microsoft products?
2. Is your data backed up, including data on your server(s), workstations and in the cloud?
3. Does everyone use strong passwords? ≥12 characters, 4 character sets, easy to remember, hard to guess, e.g. Spring2Summer&BBQ
4. The Human Firewall - do you and your colleagues have a healthy level of suspicion with all e-mails received?
