On the 21st of June I got in touch with EE via Facebook messenger to inform them that my Samsung flip z had developed a bubble down the fold as the bubble was affecting my typing i ended up calling and I was sent a link to deal with Samsung direct. I was told by EE that this is a known fault with the flip phones and Samsung would get it fixed.
Unfortunately i was traveling up north to see family early the next day so I had to put the plans on hold, on the Sunday afternoon we returned home and I made contact with Samsung, I sent them the first attached picture where you can clearly see the screen is working but the bubble is there, in the picture it has the original screen protector, a case and original stickers under the protector.
I have emails with all the scripts from the many times I have contacted Samsung to try and get this sorted.
on this chat the agent says 'wonderful wallpaper! Thank you for the photo you have provided as proof of issue' along with ' we are totally aware that this is a known issue for this model of device, as flip / fold devices are sensitive when it comes to their screen.'
Any way we agree that DPD were to collect the next day and it be sent for repair as I don't live locally to a Samsung store.
Monday morning comes, DPD collect the phone. Not in the box or case as requested as I wouldn't be guaranteed to see either again. So I patiently wait for someone to get back in touch with when my phone will be returned.
To my shock on the 02/07/2022 I receive an email reference 'TMT First repairs quote' but I didn't need a quote as it was a warranty repair...£279. so of course I called TMT first to inform them that it is a warranty repair not a quote. They tell me it's a quote as the warranty is void due to 'impact damage' they send me pictures of a tiny pin hole in the very corner of my phone but on only one side of the folding screen.
I told them that I wasn't going to pay for the repair as I hadn't created the damage. They wouldn't fix it without payment so I asked them to return the phone. As soon as I received the phone back I put it on charge and it confirmed my suspicions, the main screen wouldn't work at all! They had broken it to void the warranty so I would have to pay!
I call Samsung who wouldn't entertain the information I was giving them, they got a manager to ring me back who kept repeating the warranty is void so the repair is chargeable. I was getting so frustrated I decided to investigate.
I went on to trust pilot and read the reviews for TMT First and it looks like there are many stories EXACTLY the same as mine, they have done this to 100's if not 1000's of innocent trusting people being conned!
I looked on Facebook at TMT First and Google reviews even on the Samsung website. So even though this has been pulled up it is just being ignored.
