*Important Opening Information*
Due to staffing issues we will sadly be temporarily closed from Saturday 28th March and reopening on Monday 13th April.
This decision hasn’t been taken lightly, and I hate letting everyone down, but unfortunately the Holiday was booked and paid for while we had a member of staff to run the shop.
I will be in Los Angeles so time differences will be an issue. But I will be checking emails periodically so if I can help remotely, I will try my best so please email me.

As we count down to the last couple of hours of trading for us in 2024, we only have a couple of laptops in stock ready to go for any last-minute gifts! But from 12 we will be closing up and having a well-deserved break.

Lots has been happening these last couple of weeks at Plates PCs. We’d like to thank everyone involved! Lots of hard work and time put into making this happen!
We’d also like to say thank you for your patience while the work was ongoing. Well after 11 years without an update, I am happy to report we are now back open! Looking forward to welcoming you all into our updated workspace! Plates 2.0!!!

Plates PCs are opening but we have made some changes and this is what you can expect:

Our Hours for the coming week will be

12:00 - 3:00 Mon - Fri
Saturday - Closed

Then the week commencing 22nd June...

10:00 - 3:00 Mon - Fri
Saturday - Closed

These hours will be subject to change over the course of the weeks that follow.

You will find a hand sanitiser to the right of the door as you come in. We advise you to use this upon entering.
Due to the size of the shop we are allowing one household in at a time.
If you are simply dropping off a machine we ask you have a brief note of the issues you’re having and contact details on a piece of paper so we can contact you. Please then knock the door to let us know you’re leaving it for us we can grab it safely.

You are encouraged to use card payments or contactless, this would be most helpful.

Many thanks again for everyone’s support and look forward to getting back to some form of normality.

As we continue to monitor the latest updates and information about the global COVID-19 outbreak, we have been taking additional measures to ensure we safeguard the health of our employees and customers but still preserve our ability to operate with the same high standards.
The government have listed services like us supporting the IT infrastructure as a key service but not sure how we stand in this as we also have a retail shop. So as of Tuesday 23rd March, we at Plates PCs feel that to prevent any further risk to both employees and customers we are going to work on an appointment based system for remote support from home.
We may also be able to take in physical work at the shop but on a strict “drop and collect” service. Depending on the scenario...
Where ever possible for senior citizens and the vulnerable, we may offer a free collect and drop off service. But this isn’t always going to be possible. We have no idea how or if this will work.
Current jobs in the shop will be contacted soon as possible to arrange collection once completed.
This isn’t an easy decision but we know how important computers are to everyone these days and especially while we all do our best to work from home or keep the little ones occupied.
