There comes a point in every business owner’s journey when work has to step aside, and life quietly reminds you what truly matters.
For me, that moment is now. My eldest daughter asked if we could have our 3-year-old granddaughter for the week, so she and her partner can have a proper break—no worries, no distractions. And the truth is, time like this is priceless. Being present, making memories, and enjoying the little moments—like the nursery run, watching this small, delicate girl walk in so proudly without a second thought—that’s something no level of business success can ever replace.
But moments like this are only possible because of the people around me.
A strong business isn’t built on systems or processes alone—it’s built on people you trust when you’re not in the room. The ones who don’t wait to be asked. The ones who take pride, who genuinely care, who step up without recognition and carry responsibility when it matters most.
That’s what key staff really are. Not just employees, but the foundation that gives you the freedom to be more than just a business owner—to be a parent, a grandparent, a person.
Success isn’t always about growth or profit. Sometimes, it’s about being able to step away, be fully present where you’re needed most… and know everything is still in safe hands.
And for that, I’m genuinely grateful for the team i have around me.
