Liquid Audio

17/10/2026

After spending a glorious afternoon yesterday, listening to PJ Harvey on our big Audio Note (UK) Ltd system, the mood continues so it’s time to crack open the analogue remaster of Tidal by Fiona Apple that’s been waiting for the right opportunity to enjoy.
It’s incredible and likely to be on all day…

In a week’s time, we’ll be on our second day with Cyrus Audio to share their 80 Series amps with you, so prepare yourself for something special.

We have insane light in the shop that’s no doubt enhancing the mood so drop in to bask and listen. Here until 16:00.

Have a great weekend.

We’re now one week away from our Cyrus Audio 80 Series event.

Jason Saxon (UK Sales Manager) will be joining us to show you the new 80 Series Integrated and 80 Pre/Power streaming amplifiers.
They are both very serious performers that set a new standard.
With all of the recent accolades and award wins, there’s never been a better time to get up close and personal with these new amps.

Friday is an open day and Saturday will have two guided demonstrations - one in the morning and one in the afternoon - so there is plenty of time to explore, ask questions, and play music of your choice.
Feel free to bring some discs in as we’ll be using vinyl and CD in addition to streaming.

Links to book your free Saturday ticket can be found in our Bio and the pinned post at the top of the page.

We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Whilst everyone is losing their mind (again) following the reveal of another expensive set of speakers from our Celtic Cousins, here is your polite reminder that other high-performance manufacturers actually exist.

What’s that? You want a one-brand manufacturer from source to speaker?
Yeah, we can do that.

Sorry, what? You want them to be British?
Yep, all sorted.

You want everything - including your turntable - to sound clean and sharp, like a digital signal?
Ah, no can do.

However, if you want real texture, depth, emotion, and the ability to raise the hairs on your neck and bring tears to your eyes without warning, then I’ve got some great news for you!

Well Mr Liquid Face, you would say that because you sell that equipment, don’t you?
It’s precisely WHY I sell it.

Three decades of retail and four decades of listening to music like my life depends on it, nothing has consistently come close.
No other brand makes me want to keep listening like there aren’t enough hours in the day.

You’ve been missing out. Stop grumbling about what others do and focus on making your system, something to be amazed by.

What are you waiting for?

We’re back to it and we have option paralysis. So many options to provide today’s soundtrack.

Ultimately, it would be rude not to fire up the Audio Note (UK) Ltd Cobra and Kerr Acoustic K400s that we demo’d on Tuesday, so some Crosses ††† is just the ticket via the WiiM Ultra.

The LP12 cupboard is getting bare again with a couple of recent placements with first-time owners. It’s great to get people introduced to the Sondek for the first time.

Anyway, admin waits for no man so it’s time to get back to it. Drop in for a spin and a listen - here until 16:00.

Did you know?

Outside of supplying amazing Hi-Fi, we also repair and service Hi-Fi.
Our very talented technician is able to undertake work on a small or large scale, on pretty much any electronic items.

We have particular experience in servicing and repairing Naim Audio components. Having personally owned the brand for over 30 years, we have a lot of experience in the CB and Olive eras.
We can repair and service on a like-for-like basis, or use improved parts such as Kendeil capacitors which are a higher performance and more robust alternative which many owners prefer.

In addition to this, we also offer bespoke upgrades to CD players, including DAC replacements which dramatically improves sound quality.
As many older players age, they tend to suffer DAC failure (resulting in the loss of one or both channels) so an upgrade here makes a lot of sense.

See our website or contact us for more details on how we can help.

The future is bright, the future is orange.

We’re ready for today’s demonstration with the Kerr Acoustic K400s and Audio Note (UK) Ltd Zero/Cobra combo which is sounding that little bit better again after some final placement tweaks.

There’s an LP12 getting prepped for its lucky new owner. That will soon be packed up and installed this evening, so it’s time to crack on.

Here until 16:00

Let’s talk about…the music.

Over the last 30 years, I’ve had innumerable conversations with fellow music lovers about when they first discovered that they loved music.
Sometimes it was a song, or an album, but invariably, it was a moment. Music shared by someone for them, or experienced with others.

One of the most powerful things I see is people’s emotional reaction to music.
When doing demonstrations, it is not uncommon to see this with the listener.
They’re here to explore what the next step of their journey is and that inevitably means they hear it in a way they’ve not experienced before.
I’ll never forget the first time a client broke down in tears when listening to a piece of solo piano music. I realised then, that others felt as deeply about music as I do.

Music was around me from birth and I’ve always loved it, but it was my first proper concert when it took hold.
25th May, 1990 - Metallica at the NEC in Birmingham.
Seeing and feeling that power, empowering thousands of others in that space, was otherworldly. It was where I belonged.

So, what was the music or moment that changed everything for you?

I must admit, after hearing them at several shows, I wasn’t fully convinced that these speakers could live up to the standards set by their bigger and hugely capable siblings.
Dedicating time to really fine-tune positioning has paid massive dividends.

The soundstage and scale is outrageous for such small speakers. They don’t even sound like they’re confined to a box.

If any of you out there are interested in a small, articulate, high-performance speaker, you need to hear this setup.
