What is diversity?

How does feedback impact employee engagement?

One of the questions that consistently scores lowest in all of our employee experience surveys is "My manager gives me regular feedback".

In one of our recent surveys, we asked two questions:

1. Have you had a review with your manager in the last 6 months?
2. How meaningful was your last review?

We calculated eNPS for each group of people and the results are striking:

1. Having a review results in a significantly higher eNPS than not having a review. But....
2. How meaningful the review is has an even bigger impact on eNPS.

Conclusion:

1. Yes, managers should be carrying out regular reviews with their people.
2. Reviews need to be meaningful to have a positive impact.
3. In fact, reviews that are not meaningful actually have a detrimental impact on engagement.

We've had some interesting conversations recently with independent coaches and consultants based all around the country.

It seems that although many would like to be able to offer their clients the ability to run surveys or 360 feedback, they don't know where to start in terms of choosing the technology, not to mention getting bogged down with binding contracts.
