The dangers of running an online business have been emphasised this morning as the Amazon AWS servers are down on the East Coast of the US - this is having a huge knock-on effect with services such as Canva, Asana, Thrivecart and Membership.io (formerly Searchie) all being out of action...

This is something I cannot recommend enough.

As users are added to your email marketing tool, whether they are coming in via a sign-up form, your checkout software, downloading your lead magnet or booking a place on a workshop (or you're adding them manually but we need to have words if you are doing this 🙄), you should be using tags to identify that they have taken that action.

This is useful for a variety of reasons:
1. you can set up automated fulfilment sequences
2. you can nurture leads with targeted offers
3. as your list grows you can use tags and segments to identify trends in your audience behaviour, such as:
- repeat customers;
- patterns in interaction;
- and even how long it takes freebie-hunters to convert 😉

If your list is small or even non-existent it might feel a bit like overkill but, believe me, as your business grows you will be so pleased you did it.

An email marketing tool can be a coach’s best friend. It can save you time, energy and a whole load of stress.

When I work with coaches to identify what they should put in place for their businesses, an email marketing tool is the first thing I recommend. You don't even need a website to use one to generate leads for your business!

What you should be using an email marketing tool for:
1) collecting contact details of leads
2) automatically sending your lead magnets and follow-up emails
3) sending nurture sequences to keep your leads warm
4) scheduling emails about events and offers
5) automating all your launch communcations
6) ensuring all your comms are branded and GDPR compliant

and much, much more!

Are you still playing email ping pong when it comes to organising discovery calls and appointments with clients?

One of the first things I tell my clients to do is to start using an online appointment scheduling tool. You will save yourself so much time!

You can:

✨ integrate them with your electronic calendar so there's no double-booking
✨ set your availability to specific days and times, and add buffers between meetings
✨ have a minimum lead-in time for appointments
✨ send automatic confirmations, reminders and follow-up emails
✨ connect it to your video call software such as Zoom so that it automatically creates the meeting AND sends them the link
✨ allow rescheduling using a link
✨ take payments at the point of booking
