Do you have this really annoying issue where, when you try to safely remove/eject a USB memory stick/ pen drive/flash drive or an external hard drive, it won't eject?
This can really wear you down over time and 'drive' you round the bend! (did you see what I did there?)
If you are one of these people, then salvation cometh! Yes, it's true!
This issue has driven me mad for years and I work in IT!
Well, I recently found out how to resolve the issue.

Be aware:
If buying a new laptop at this time of year, beware of buying anything with 32gb or 64gb of eMMC memory. These machines don't have a hard drive for storage, they only have chips on the circuit board for storage, and 32gb is not enough room for the Windows updates, and 64gb won't leave much room for data, on top of Windows updates.
As a consequence, because the storage must have space for the laptop to simply run properly (overflow space for the system RAM - random access, or, short-term memory,, if you like) if the storage space gets filled, the laptop will simply come to a grinding halt!
These laptops are just not fit for purpose and should be avoided at all costs, to prevent frustration and disappointment over the next few months after the purchase.

Happy new year everyone.
I just received a phone call from a man stating that my computer security had been compromised, and it reminded me to let everyone know.
Please, please let everyone you know that anyone ever phoning you up to tell you you have computer problems is a scammer, period. Don't fall for these scams, it can cost you dearly. They sound very convincing and sometimes claim to be from Microsoft. Microsoft will never ever phone you up. In fact, have you ever tried to get in touch with Microsoft? If's almost impossible!
If we educate our friends and family about this phenomena - which unbelievably has been doing the rounds for over 10 years - then eventually they will give up because no-one will speak to them. If we ask each person to tell to pass it on, and they do the same, then we can protect everyone eventually. Especially vulnerable are the elderly, the inexperienced and the vulnerable.
Let's prevent these thieving, deceiving lowlife, who pray on others for their own profit from achieving success.

Are you using Microsoft Windows?
Are you aware of system restore?
Major Windows updates sometimes disable this very important feature.
Please get in touch to check if your computers system restore is switched on, and if not, how to re-enable it.
This brilliant part of Windows can save days of downtime if your PC stops working properly or gets badly infected.
It's a simple issue to put right if it's been switched off.

Have a password protected PC or laptop which you can't get into?
No problem, I can reset your password - normally within an hour - so that you can get access to your photos and other data once again!

Have an old laptop or IT equipment that you're thinking of throwing away? Get in touch and I can recycle it and also make sure your data is safely completely eradicated, without the need to hammer the hard drive and render it only good for landfill. Wiping it securely and re using it is much kinder to the planet.
