Last week we held our biannual charity poker night! ♥️♦️♣️♠️🃏
We had a terrific turn out, with plenty of high rolling hands, bets a-plenty, and we even stopped for a moment to refuel with delicious pizza 🍕😋

This time around we were raising money for Lymphoma Action, as we just so happened to be hosting the event on Lymphoma Awareness Day! We ended up raising a total of £135, so a massive thank you to all who donated, participating or not!

After the last card was dealt, the last bluff was made, and the last chip thrown into the pot, our winner of a tightly contested tournament was Lewis Cooley! 🏆 Commiserations to all those involved who weren't as lucky (or as good at lying) this time around, you'll just have to try and win next time!

As 2026 starts off, we started by taking a look back at the previous year, as a few Fridays ago we held our inaugural Big Fat Quiz of the Year (DI edition) 🗓️🖋️🗒️ at the Sunflower Bar 🌻
There were a number of different topics covered, notable events from the year prior, questions about DI itself, some general knowledge too, and even a few wildcard rounds to make the evening interesting and get everyone invested!

A highly contested evening ended with the LoGang showing their superior knowledge of 2025, and picking up some lovely 2026 calenders, so they can keep their knowledge sharp for next year's one!

Massive thank you to the sunflower for hosting this event and shout-out to our quiz master Jude for putting on a fantastic quiz! (No biases here)

Almost a month to the day on, we are all finally recovered from our annual Christmas Party in Belfast!🎄🍽️
For 2025 we attended the lovely Crumlin Road Gaol, and a terrific evening was had by all! We had gambling 🃏🎰🎲(with fake money of course), and we had a céilí performed, which everyone had a blast with, and was a great way to burn off the lovely dinner right and quick 🕺💃
There was even a visit from a little known troublemaker THE GRINCH, but luckily we were just such great craic, he decided to just join in on the fun!

Also on the same day we had the return of our Festive Football, a huge 5-a-Side tournament which had a terrific turn out ⚽ It was a cold December morning, but nobody let that quash the fiery passion in their souls, and a hotly contested ended with our cleverly named Team 3 (aka the team in black) taking home the trophy!

Overall a very busy day for Data Intellect, and with us now in 2026, there's plenty of more fun events on the way!
