"Giving paedophiles dolls the look, feel and weigh the same as a 7 year old child, is like giving a domestic violence perpetrator a punchbag with a picture of their partner on it.”

Seven years ago, our CEO Jim Gamble spoke about the safeguarding concerns surrounding child-like s*xual abuse dolls. While the conversation has evolved, the message remains just as important today: the s*xualisation of children, in any form, should never be normalised.

Currently, importing child-like s*x dolls into the UK is illegal, but possessing one is not an offence in England and Wales. The proposed Child-like Sexual Abuse Dolls (Offences) Bill seeks to close this significant gap in the law.

This is an issue we were raising seven years ago. We welcome this important step forward as the Bill approaches its second reading on 4th September 2026.

Hitting all the right notes on chorister safety! 🎡

Year 2 of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme shows encouraging progress across 10 cathedral choir settings - from clearer supervision responsibilities to stronger communication with parents. The findings also highlight crucial emerging themes that require ongoing focus:

Neurodiversity awareness: Adapting rehearsal environments and communication to support all choristers.

Contextual training: Providing music staff and chaperones with tailored training on behaviour management and pastoral support.

Voice change frameworks: Supporting young people through key developmental transitions.

Child-led signage: Ensuring accessible routes to support in every chorister space.

Swipe through for the key findings and recommendations from the 2025 report. πŸ“±
