This Linn Sondek LP12 arrived with its original 1985 plinth, a turntable that had originally belonged to our customer’s father.

The goal was to improve its performance while preserving the character and history of the original turntable.

With a carefully chosen package of upgrades, the LP12 now delivers a significant step forward in performance, while retaining the original 1985 plinth and, importantly, the connection to the customer’s father.

Sometimes the best upgrade isn’t simply about replacing everything, it’s about knowing what’s worth keeping.

A complete Linn LP12 rebuild. A customer brought in an LP12: an original plinth, third-party motor + control. Incorrect cartridge alignment, oil for bearing and motor calibration was way out.
The full upgrade included a plinth, Valhalla power supply, Cirkus bearing kit, tonearm cable, motor and headshell leads. And of course a full service: speed calibration, new springs, grommets, oil and a clean.
Has passed our tune dem, is sounding fantastic and looking great.

Currently on the jig: Final motor adjustment and speed calibration on a fully rebuilt Linn LP12. One of the final stages, where careful motor alignment and precise speed calibration ensure the turntable performs exactly as it should.

Our dem room in Beaconsfield recently underwent a redesign and re-tune to optimise the performance. We're very pleased with it!
