It’s goodbye from us…

It’s a time of mixed feelings for us as we have decided to close. Business since the start of the pandemic has been poor and with more and more of the audio trade moving online, this seems like the right time to call it a day. With the Green family having been in business in Bath since 1946, its is a sad time. However, it does mean that Paul finally gets his much overdue retirement which we can celebrate!

We would like to thank all our customers, past and present, many of whom became friends and made our work time so much more enjoyable. We’d also like to thank all the manufacturers we have worked alongside for all their support over the years.

We do not have a confirmed date for the actual final day but its likely to be mid-July. We will update this page when the date is confirmed. We will be listing all our stock on our eBay store over the coming days and weeks so please keep an eye out for bargains!

Repairs:
If you have recently purchased an item from us, please do not worry about future servicing. Just make sure you keep your receipt as in the unlikely event of an issue arising during the warranty period you will still be able to approach the manufacturer to find you your nearest dealer who will be able to carry out an under warranty repair. If you have mislaid your receipt, please contact us asap as we will be able to print out a new copy for a short time after closure.

New from Audiolab - the DC Block!

OVERVIEW

The typical mains supply is subject to various kinds of interference and non-linear loads, which distorts the AC waveform. Asymmetrical loads will cause the waveform to be offset and result in what is known as 'DC on the mains'. The amount of DC is only small, typically less than 500mV, but it only takes a small amount of DC to saturate a modern high flux toroidal transformer. Saturation of the transformer will invariably result in reduced efficiency and mechanical vibration.

Removing the DC from your mains supply will not only restore efficiency and reduce mechanical hum of noisy transformers, it will also improve the performance of the connected audio equipment, resulting in greater clarity and dynamics.

The Audiolab DC BLOCK utilises a simple connection and intelligent design that will help remove DC from your mains power supply, instantly.
