Small parts just got cheaper to order.

Our usual minimum order is £6.90, which suits most parts but felt steep for something tiny. So we're trying a lower one: if everything in your basket is a small PLA or PETG part (up to 8 g each), the minimum is now £4.00.

A real example from the live quote tool: a 12 mm cube weighing about 1 g is £4.00, or about £6.95 delivered by Royal Mail Large Letter. Two tiny parts in one basket can come to as little as £4.60 in total. Add one larger part and the normal £6.90 minimum applies.

Good for clips, spacers, k***s, small replacement parts, standoffs and test prints. Printed in our Basingstoke workshop and posted across the UK.

Charging ports wear out. Cables get yanked sideways, the solder pads under the socket crack or tear, and a device with a perfectly good battery stops charging.

We replace USB-C and micro-USB charging ports by post, at fixed prices:

That includes the new port, fitting and tracked return, with a 12-month warranty on the work. If we find damage beyond the port, we quote before going any further.

In the photos: a SkyTrak+ golf launch monitor that came in with an intermittent USB-C port (one of the socket's anchor legs had torn away from the board), and a DualSense controller board with the old port removed, ready for the new one.

We've changed how batches are priced on our 3D printing service. Upload one file and the quote page shows the price at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 copies side by side. Pick a row and the discount comes off automatically: 10% from 5 copies, 20% from 10, 30% from 25, 40% from 50 and 50% at 100. No code to type, no waiting for a quote.

A real example from the live quote tool today: a small 60 mm PLA bracket is £6.90 on its own, £3.50 each for 10 and £2.19 each for 100. Postage is charged once per order, however many copies are in it.

Two repairs that went home working this week.

1. Nintendo Switch. It would not charge or power on, and a pin inside the USB-C port had bent over across its neighbours. New port fitted, then checked charging on a USB meter and booted to the home screen. The battery had been run right down, so it got a new one as well.

2. Lexar portable SSD. The USB-C plug had been bent over and there is no spare part for it, so we rebuilt the original plug, refitted it and reinforced it with epoxy. Tested at full 10 Gb/s in both orientations, with test files copied back and checked.

Both came in by post. If something of yours has stopped working, send us the model and a couple of photos and we'll tell you if it's worth repairing before you post anything.
