When an AI assistant connects to an application, the application needs to decide which actions it is allowed to take.
I built Engine Room, my own Laravel task system, around defined tasks, scoped tools and an audit trail. Assistants can claim work and return a result or failure reason through an MCP connection. Permission checks happen on the server.
A task marked complete means a result has come back. I still review its sources, assumptions and recommendations before using it.
The case study walks through this with fictional development tasks in a local demonstration. It shows the approach without sharing client records or claiming measured results.
Read Engine Room through the website link on this Page, then Case Studies.
