Technocamps is a pan-Wales schools and community outreach programme which was initiated in 2003 by the Computer Science Department at Swansea University and now has regional hubs at Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Cardiff Metropolitan and Glyndwr Universities and the Universities of South Wales (USW) and of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD). One of its aim is to encourage an increase in the number of pupils who opt to study computer science and its cognate STEM subjects at GCSE, A-Level and beyond. The £5.3M ESF-funded Technocamps Operation is a partnership between Swansea and Bangor Universities and the University of South Wales with the ambition of providing long-term interventions to secondary school aged pupils across West Wales and the Valleys to motivate and inspire their journey to study computer science to support potential STEM-based careers. The Operation will consist of 25 staff across the partner institutions with the objective to deliver intervention to 3800 participants throughout the three-year operation.

The Technocamps Project Support Officer will report directly to the Regional Coordinator and undertake the development and delivery of computer science and STEM-based activities for the Technocamps Operation. The post holder will work as part of the Technocamps delivery team, delivering workshops to school pupils across North Wales.

Only applications through the University website will be considered.
