Another cracking night at Deeside Gaming Club last night! 🎲

Tables were packed at Strachan hall, dice were rolling, and the battlefield was alive with everything from grimdark industrial warzones to cinematic skirmishes. Great to see such a strong turnout and a mix of new faces and seasoned commanders getting stuck in.

Highlights included:
- Warhammer 40K
- Age of Sigmar
- Kill Team
- Trench Crusade
- Magic the Gathering
– Brutal clashes
– Close-fought games that went right down to the wire
– Plenty of laughs, tactical blunders, and heroic last stands

Massive thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a good night — the club’s growing into something really special.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, this is your sign. Whether you’re into building, painting, or just throwing dice, there’s always a place at the table.

We are on every second Friday and looking forward (shameless plug) to our first All Day Open Day at Banchory Scout Hut on Saturday 6th June - give us a shout and come on down!

A casual 1 day Age of Sigmar tournament

This is a free event

Held at Banchory Scout Hut on 6th June 2026

This is a casual and relaxed tournament, there are no entry requirements.

Take your favourite list, broken list or some crazy and have some fun

The only thing required is that you sign up in Milarki to secure your spot.

There is plenty of food options around Banchory as no food will be provided

There is no pack as no one reads them

We will try to stick to 3hr rounds but are flexible

Come play, relax and enjoy yourself

Salutations Wargaming Wizards!

We’ve been so busy rolling dice and pushing minis that we missed a post after the last session… so here’s two session’s worth for the price of one!

Recently we’ve had tables packed with:

Basically all the fun of the fair — but with lasers, explosions, monsters and plenty of tabletop mayhem… plus the most important part: a great crack with a brilliant bunch of folks.

We’ve got a cracking scene building, so if you fancy a game or just want to see what it’s all about, come down to Strachan every second Friday and say hello!

Finallllllyyyyy we got back to playing games on Friday

A great turn out despite the weather, someone said there was a 7 minute gap between the rain stopping and starting 🙈.

Some great games were had, Alex and Elliot delved in to drop fleet commander and that looked awesome fun.

Our usual resident terrain god Joe had his stunning Trench Crusade board back in action as Higgy and Joe battled hard to take down the green dragon.

A fantastically frenetic 4 way combat patrol rammy between, Necrons, Space Wolves,Dark Angels, and Orks (Kev,Scott,Rich and Ross) ended up with the green tide taking the spoils (i think)

Harrison, Colin and Thomas were doing some casual Friday night hobby

Some fresh faces to the club took 5th Edition 40k out for a spin, great so see skme nostalgic gameplay.

The historical gentleman took on a cool looking napoleonic skirmish battle

We had a table of Magic: The Gathering first timers Brian and Andrew delving in to the action staight away.

Brilliant to be back, hopefully thats the cancellations past with now amd we can get regular again

We are hoping to arrange some all day gaming day's aoon so watch this space

‼️CLUB NIGHT CANCELLED FRIDAY 23 JAN!‼️

Hi folks - fortune vomits on our eiderdown once again as the weather gods continue to lash us with torment. Many roads in the Shire, including around Strachan, are flooded and impassable, and it’s still raining so for everyone’s safety we’ve decided to cancel tonights club night (again).

Our apologies and so sorry we can’t all get some gaming in, I’m personally gutted as I’ve been working on models all week to get them finished for tonight’s game. Fit can ye de? 😕

Hopefully normal service will resume with next club night on Friday 6th February. Roll on the spring….

Finally...... we are back this Friday

Snovid 26 claimed out first club night a few weeks back but out first club night of 2026 this friday

We would love to see some new faces this year and also welcome back our regulars and stalwart

Loads of different tabletop games to get involved with, our Blood Bowl 7s League restarts also, there's talk of DnD happening this year along with all other tabletop games

‼️CLUB NIGHT CANCELLED FRIDAY 9th JAN!‼️

Hi folks - due to the ongoing Fenris/Narnia/Hoth type weather we have taken the unfortunate decision, for everyone’s safety, to cancel this Friday’s club night. We’ll try and squeeze in an extra night at some point later in the schedule.

It’s a shame to miss the first club night of the year but hopefully the weather will be better for the 23rd and going to Strachan in current conditions is madness - stay safe, stay warm and if you are snowed in you have no excuse not to get on with some painting!

Good Evening Folks

Hope this finds you all well

Just before all the craziness of the festive period I wanted to yet again say a MASSIVE thank you to each and every member. Visitor, guest,regular that come along to the club.

We celebrate 3 years of existence next month and when i started building the idea of a club, not in my wildest dreams did I think it would turn in to what it has become.

So thank you and also to the folks involved in the DGC committee past and present, without all these people making a commitment we wouldn't be where we are.

I hope you all have a merry Christmas,a happy new year.

Celebrate with those you love, raise a glass those that are no longer with us and be kind.

All the best to you,your families and friends, we will see you in the new year with all these shiny new toys

Good Afternoon All

Hope your all well

During the clubs recent AGM and with hire costs being increased by 50% (hall energy costs) we had a review of our pay to play pricing for non members and also our membership costs.

The club has absored this increased cost since June when we were informed of the sudden increase.

Our aim is to encourage people to look at taking out membership, as doing this will save you money, support the club and allow us to reinvest a little bit back in to the club.

So with the above in mind we are adjusting the
Membership prices for 2026 and are as below for 24 club nights per year

Pay as you play- £3 per night to £5 per night

6 Monthly- £24- changed to £30

12 Monthly- £48 changed to £60

These will come in to effect on the 1st January 2026

You can see the saving of becoming a member at £5 a month rather than £5 per night.
