Job lot sale of sleeving - Just in case this is useful to someone or someone you know that builds wiring assemblies, we're clearing our stock of cable sleeving and wraps on this ebay auction.

It's over £5000 in retail value and bids start at £200 - basically we just need the space at this point and don't really use it ourselves any longer so it would be handy to move it on soonish.

If this could be useful to someone you know that assembles up cabling, do pass it on. We'll be looking to do the same with heatshrink as well so could potentially do a bundle deal there.

An upgrade from one of our younger clients this week, upgrading from an RX 5500 XT to a white RTX 5060 through our tradeup scheme — value of the old card going toward the overall cost. Knowing he'll be booting up a game that used to chug and seeing it run properly, that's what it's all about for us. Might sound cheesy, but it's true. No 5080, no big reveal. Just a real upgrade for a real PC, and what a massive jump in performance.

We have the AM4 Ryzen 7 5800X3D processors available again – and of course there’s been coverage in tech media about these with a lot of cynicism about the general state of the industry that led to this good (but older) product going back into production.

Simply, these can be a great value upgrade for some who are invested in an AM4 platform already. They’re not the greatest pick for a new build – if you’re starting afresh, the slight extra cost of DDR5 is worth just swallowing for sake of future-proofing and go with a newer processor.

But for those on a good AM4 motherboard like B550 or X570 chipset and with 32GB of fast DDR4 already who may squirm at the idea of replacing that RAM with DDR5 – this processor makes “sense”. The upgrade potential it gives without having to replace 3 components then makes it a decent value proposition to squeeze some more lifespan out of an existing system.

Either way, we can help with the best upgrade route for your budget – we’ll look at what you’ve got, what you want to achieve and what you want to spend and find the best way forward. In some cases that might be that an AM4 CPU upgrade and trade-in makes sense, but for others it may be swapping the processor, CPU and RAM to a newer platform will be the better long term option and we’ll help you find the best way forward.

Creating the solution to a problem is the very core of what we do — one of our customers had a requirement to collate photos from multiple cameras at an event, edit and then display those finished results to clients at the event.

While a laptop would have ticked the portability aspect, the screen would be too small, and the performance/price ratio of a high-end laptop is in a different league to a desktop.

However, retaining portability was vital — using the small DeepCool CH160 chassis with a carry handle made this computer easy to move, but in a sturdy chassis with room to upgrade if needed in future.

All boxes ticked and our customer is thrilled!

What an upgrade – built to be perfect for VR play in Flight Sim 2024 this chunky Torrent system has a AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, 48GB RAM and GeForce RTX 5080 graphics.

A huge difference over the system that was struggling to run it before, and to make things nice and seamless we cloned the existing setup across from the old PC for our customer and discounted a trade-in value for swapping in his old PC which will be on our Ready2Go section soon!

Not all of our customers are gamers – and while there’s less visual excitement in this illustration, it shows the practical side to an upgrade with before and after of a system that had a pretty significant uplift. Key criteria were a DVD drive (non-negotiable), better video editing performance, and Windows 11 readiness.

Look at the stunning transformation on this PC! For our customer this was a big step up in graphics performance (RTX 2070 to RTX 5070), we added more storage and re-cased the system for an improvement in both cooling and visuals.

Everything is looking sparkly and clean and the system gets a new lease of life in game performance.

This PC is aimed at high refresh rate 1080p gaming, whilst still being capable of strong 1440p performance. The AM5 platform provides a clean upgrade path for the future,

Ryzen 5 7600X
Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
32GB DDR5 6000MT/s
1TB NVMe

£1,392 inc VAT.

Supply on components isn't amazing and building a high-end PC yourself isn't exactly good fun right now... worth flagging up in case it aligns with a specification someone is trying to build, we assembled this PC in October for our Ready2Go range admittedly just as DDR5 memory and storage pricing was starting to rise.

Given that 64GB memory kits at a decent speed are now £400+ (the exact Corsair kit in this PC is minimum £800 when searching online just now) and RTX 4090 cards used are £1800+... this full system which is well specified throughout looked fair value a month ago and right now with a total at £3257 it's a bit of a bargain versus DIY.

Just flagging this up in case it saves someone a nightmare of difficult pricing and long waits. Full info here - https://www.kustompcs.co.uk/pc-systems/gaming-pcs/ready2go-gaming-pcs/kustom-6500d-ryzen-7-9800x3d-rtx4090-ready2go-gaming-pc/
