Good news for those who a still running Windows 10.
Microsoft has extended the security updates for a further year.
What does this mean? If you had signed up to the extended security updates last year, you were going to be covered until October 2026. With the new extension, as long as you had already signed up to 2026, you will get a further extension to October 2027.
That said you may see some errors on older systems where the UEFI/BIOS may show issues with Secure Boot certificates.

Ooops.

Liquid and laptop motherboards don't mix well.

After cleaning and inspecting the laptop came back to life.

The WiFi card, that covered this area, did fail. After replacing the card we have working WiFi.

This laptop is from the late 1990's.
Yes it still works and becomes a side project.

Just had a gaming laptop in.
Fault one of 3 Nvme drives not showing up.
When looking I noticed the start time was not what it should be.
After pulling the drive and trying it on my test system, the drive was found to be dead.
With the drive swapped out and a few bios settings changed, the system works and posts more like it did when the owner originally had the system.

Had a phone call and thought I would share.
My customer was concerned over an email they had received about cloud storage running low. So I asked for it to be forwarded onto me as I was 99% certain it was a fishing email.
Once I looked at it, the first place I looked at was the sending email address, hmm would an email like this come from such an address? Also noted the vagueness of the alleged service.

Another new system setup.

And this is why the Laptop kept shutting down.
The cooler was blocked by fluff bunnies causing the system to over heat and to thermal shutdown.
