Everyone likes saving money. We certainly do.

But when it comes to business broadband, the cheapest option isn't always the cheapest option.

A connection that's constantly slowing down, dropping out, or struggling to cope with modern workloads costs far more than most people realise. Lost productivity, frustrated staff, interrupted calls and unhappy customers all add up surprisingly quickly.

The challenge is that broadband problems rarely arrive with a dramatic bang. They're usually a slow drip of little frustrations that businesses simply get used to.
If you've found yourself saying "the internet's a bit slow today" more than once this month, it might be worth taking a closer look.

For all the technology available today, customers still make surprisingly quick decisions based on a simple phone call.
If the phone rings unanswered, they're kept on hold forever, or they get bounced around departments, it doesn't exactly create the best first impression.
The funny thing is, most businesses spend a lot of time and money attracting new customers, but the real test often happens when somebody decides to pick up the phone and call.
Answer quickly. Sound like you actually want to help. Make it easy for people to reach the right person.
It sounds simple because it is.
Yet it's still one of the easiest ways to stand out from the competition

There was something oddly satisfying about ending a phone call with a proper slam of the handset.

No tapping a screen. No awkward searching for the red button. Just a clear and unmistakable "conversation over."

Technology has moved on a bit since then, although judging by some of the stories we hear about the customer service from other telecoms providers… a few people still wish they had the option... 😂

Here’s something we see all the time…

Businesses overpaying for their telecoms — and not even realising it.

We’re talking anything up to 20–40% in some cases.

Usually it’s things like:
• Old contracts that were never reviewed
• Services you don’t actually use anymore
• Systems that haven’t kept up with how your business works

And to be fair, it’s not something most people check unless there’s a problem.

Yep — the old copper cables that connected your house and businesses network is on its way out. Over the next few months you will have to change

The surprising bit? A lot of businesses haven’t done anything about it yet!

And leaving it too late usually means rushed decisions, unnecessary costs, and systems that don’t quite fit how you actually work.

Is your office phone system stuck in the past?

You know the one…
Big old handsets.
Buttons that don’t quite work.
Transfers that feel like a lucky guess.
And that one person who “knows how it works” (and is off this week).

It does the job… but only just.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world has moved on. Calls on mobiles, laptops, apps… systems that actually make life easier instead of harder.

If your phones feel more like a daily battle than a helpful tool, it might be time for an upgrade.

Or… at the very least… maybe accidentally leave this post open on your boss’s screen
