LANGUAGE SUPPORT

KILLER POOL

* Added rule variation to choose whether players get 3 or 5 lives at the start of a match. See 'Rule Variations > Killer Pool'.

PHYSICS

* Balls are now packed tighter in the rack for all pool and snooker games.

CAMERAS

* Improved vertical camera position when cue is elevated. Camera now stays lower with better view down the table.

* Fixed issue where replaying a shot at the end of a game would not work with TV, Static or Mobile 3D cameras.

SPECTATOR MODE

* Added option to choose a separate venue for Spectator Mode matches. See 'Options > Match Settings > Competition Venue'.

SPECTATOR GAME MODE

* Added new Spectator game mode where you can watch a dedicated AI vs AI match from start to finish. From the 'Games' menu select 'Spectator Mode' option. Pick any rule set, then choose any 2 different AI players, and up to 4 players in a game of Killer, or set player choice to 'Random' to let the game decide the challengers. Match length and player skill level can also be selected. There is also a 'Player Info' button to view details about each selected player.

MENUS

* Match Settings in main menu are now spread over 2 pages. See 'Options > Match Settings' and use arrow buttons to change pages.

* Added option in Spectator Mode to define random players. See 'Options > Match Settings (page 2) > Spectator Mode > Random Player Selection'. Default setting is 'All Players'. Other choices include 'Men and Women', 'Men Only', 'Women Only', 'Men vs Women' and 'All Men or All Women'.

* Added option in new Spectator Mode to toggle inserting a break after each game of a match. See 'Options > Match Settings (page 2) > Spectator Mode > Pause Between Each Game'. Default setting is 'Off'. Same option also added to in-game menu.

* Added option to set referee speed. See 'Options > Match Settings > Referee > Navigation Speed'. There are 3 settings: 'Slow', 'Medium' and 'Fast'. Default is 'Medium'.

* Increased number of settings from 2 to 3, for 'Navigation Speed' and 'Response Time' for virtual players. See 'Options > Match Settings > Virtual Players'.

* Added Speed Pool settings to main menu. See 'Options > Match Settings (page 2) > Speed Pool.

* Added shortcut button on game rules selection screen to take you directly to match settings. Applies to Bar Challenge, Tournament, Practice and new Spectator Mode.

SNOOKER BALL SET

* Added 'Brightness Settings' button to Snooker ball set menu, to allow individual brightness adjustment to red, yellow, green, brown, blue and pink balls. This may assist colour blind players by making certain balls easier to identify. There are separate saved settings for 'Classic' and 'Vintage' ball set designs.

A.I.

* Improved break shots in Snooker, with better power selection and finer contact on the reds with less disruption of the pack.

* Improved break shots on 14.1 Straight Pool, with better power selection and cleaner ball contact, with more chance of sending 2 balls to the rail, to avoid making a break foul.

* Reduced instances where where top level AI players could occasionally play into a non-legal ball by accident, if positioned close to a legal ball.

* Fixed issue where upon loading a saved game, the AI player would sometimes perform the first shot with a bad aim.

* Improved AI accuracy when playing angled shots into middle pockets.

MULTIPLAYER

* Added option to toggle use of the 2D camera in-game. See page 4 of options box in MP lobby.

* Added option to toggle visibility of aiming target in 3D mode. If set to 'Hidden', aim lines 2 and 3 are now disabled in 2D mode. See page 3 of options box. Note: this and the above camera option are advanced settings when turned off, we advise checking with your opponent before use.

* Options for aim lines 1, 2 and 3, 2D camera and 3D target are now shown in red text if setting is disabled. Red colour also shown in game invites.

AUDIO

* Audience applause now fades out quickly if you or your opponent play a good shot and then accidentally pot the cue ball. The audience then makes a sighing sound.

MISCELLANEOUS

* Red score box indicating that are snookers are required is no longer visible on game over screen.

* When a trophy is unlocked mid-game in a multiplayer match against a human player, the game now auto-returns to the table after a short pause to avoid delays.

* Various improvements to localised game text.

SPEED POOL

* Added option to toggle clock ticking sound on or off. When starting a game of speed pool, click the 'Settings' button at the bottom of the in-game menu, and the option now appears in the list of tick-box items.

CONTROLS

* Added option to use left or right thumbstick to set power and play shot when using manual cue control method. See 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Game Controller > Play Shot (Manual Control)'. Default setting is left thumbstick.

MULTIPLAYER

* Added chime sound notification when you receive a chat message from a human opponent during a multiplayer match, and you have tabbed out of the game. The most recent message remains on-screen when you return to the game.

MENUS

* Added option to select format for displaying number of games in a match. Choose between 'Best of ...' and 'Race to ...' settings. See 'Options > Match Settings > International Settings > Number of Games (Format)'. Separate settings provided for pool and snooker.

* Added options to select number of games played in Bar Challenge and Tournament modes, with separate settings for pool and snooker. See 'Options > Match Settings > Bar Challenge' and 'Options > Match Settings > Tournament'.

* Increased maximum refresh rate stored in graphics settings from 8 to 16 bits, to support higher refresh monitors.

TURKISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT

* Added Turkish language support. A big thank you to long-time Cue Club player Burkay Erdoğan for helping with localisation. To select a new language from the main menu, go to 'Configuration > Language'.

MENUS

* Added shortcut link in main menu from game rules page to rule variations and vice-versa. Button added at bottom of page.

MULTIPLAYER

* Added menu option to change number of virtual players allowed in lobby. Range is 0-4. See 'Options > Match Settings > Multiplayer > Number of Players'. Default value is now 3.

* Added menu options to change star rating of virtual players (skill level). See 'Options > Match Settings > Multiplayer' and adjust 'Minimum Star Value' and 'Maximum Star Value'.

CUE POWER

* Added menu options to set default cue power for break shot and later shots in both pool and snooker. See 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Gameplay', and navigate to page 2.

Default setting is 50%, and can be set anywhere from 10 to 100% in 5% intervals. This value is the power set before user makes adjustments for each shot.

CONTROLS

* Increased speed of target movement when using gamepad, helping to speed up gameplay.

MENUS

* 'Game Rules' and 'Rule Variations' now moved to top level main menu for easier access. In-game rules and variations now moved up a level to 'Game' menu.

EURO 8-BALL POOL

* When using numbered ball set option, ball icon in notification capsule is now updated when aiming at object ball.

A.I.

* Improved AI shot power selection when cue ball is obstructed by another ball or cushion and cue butt is elevated.

MULTIPLAYER

* Fixed issue where using foreign characters in username could prevent connection to online server.

* Fixed issue where using foreign characters in chat messages to other human players could prevent it from sending.

SPEED UP OPPONENT'S SHOTS

* Added menu option to give more control over AI shot speed up feature. See 'Options > Match Settings > Virtual Players > Speed Up Opponent's Shot'. There are 3 settings:

'1 Shot' speeds up current shot only, after pressing 'U' key or gamepad right bumper button.
'All Shots' speeds up all AI shots after key or button press, and stays active until user exits game.
'All Shots (No Activation)' speeds up all AI shots without key or button press to activate.

A second key or button press now deactivates this feature for the first two options. Default setting is '1 Shot'.

Also added small icon to top right of screen to show when AI opponent's shot has been increased to 4x speed. The image is a double arrow.

8-BALL POOL

* When ball nomination is disabled in rule variations, ball icon in notification capsule now shows current ball aimed at from that player's group, rather than lowest ball in group.

14.1 STRAIGHT POOL

* Fixed issue where head string arrow indicators were sometimes drawn after a re-rack following 3 fouls.

RECOVERED GAMES

* Moved button to re-load a recovered game to the main menu for increased visibility. Recovered games are auto-saved after each shot, and will be shown if the user quits using ALT+F4 or has an unexpected game exit. Tournament matches can also be recovered from the same button.

TOURNAMENTS

* Fixed issue where if a player was knocked out of a tournament, then pressing 'Continue' button in fixtures screen could display incorrect number of frames played for remaining players.

MULTIPLAYER

* Fixed issue where MP icon for players, invites and messages would sometimes not show on in-game control panel, if the 'Receive Alerts' button was selected in MP lobby.

GAMEPLAY / CONTROLS

* Ball number indicator in 3D mode now colour matched to aim line colour (top left of screen).

* Fixed issue where chalking cue and use of some keyboard shortcut keys was not possible after re-loading a game.

* Fixed issue where using ALT+TAB immediately after switching from Fullscreen to Windowed mode could cause a D3D error window to appear.

* Fixed issue where using in-game menu close button (X) immediately after switching from Fullscreen to Windowed mode could cause a D3D error window to appear.

* 'Minimise Inactive Window' setting in 'Options > Display > Graphics Settings' now sends game window to back when option is set to 'No' and user presses ALT+TAB to switch focus.

* Game window is now rendered when above setting is selected and user presses ALT+TAB to switch focus.

* Fixed issue where using ALT+TAB could accidentally enable fine aiming control (slow target movement) when returning to game.

SNOOKER

* Added ability to concede when an AI player is at the table and ahead on points, and you require snookers. Go to 'Game > Match Information > Concede Game'.

* Added red colour to score box to warn when a player requires snookers to win. Click on the score box to give more detailed information.

* Fixed issue where unlocking high break achievement after a foul or at end of a frame would freeze the game.

14.1 STRAIGHT POOL

* Added rule variation to allow player to respot cue ball anywhere on table after opponent pots the cue ball. See 'Game Rules > Rule Variations > 14.1 Straight Pool'.

* Fixed issue where 'Safety' button would appear after a serious foul re-rack, and ball / pocket nomination was turned off in rule variations.

* Fixed issue where unlocking high run achievement after a foul or at end of a frame would freeze the game.

* Fixed issue where in-game rule variations would not always display correct settings in menus.

GAMEPLAY

* Added keyboard 'U' key to speed up the current AI opponent shot to 4x speed. On a gamepad press the right bumper button. This can make games faster with less waiting time.

* Fixed issue where score box remained highlighted after moving pointer outside the active area.

* Fixed issue where it was possible to play a shot using 'C' key when cue ball was still raised in the air after dragging it directly over an object ball.

* Fixed issue where zoom out was not possible with middle mouse button click when hovering over an object ball in practice mode (fast aiming turned on).

CUES

* Re-adjusted cue length relative to table size. Note, there is a cue length reducing option at 'Options > Tables & Equipment > Cues > Global Settings > Length Reduction'. Default value is now 35%.

* Added new 45% and 50% settings to above length option.

* Slightly reduced perspective scaling effect when cue is elevated high in 2D overhead mode.

MULTIPLAYER

* Fixed issue where lobby info screen could not be closed by clicking 'X' button if virtual players are not invited into the lobby.

* Increased table sizes for pool and snooker. 6 to 12 ft tables are slightly larger, with 5ft pool table and 7ft snooker table introduced as small size options.

* Improved rendering of 3D tables with reduced clipping errors.

A.I.

* Improved AI potting ability into middle pockets on pool and snooker tables.

* Fixed issue where an AI player would sometimes freeze on the opening break shot in snooker.

MENUS

* When 'Random' difficulty is selected in Quick Match, the skill level of your opponent is now revealed at the end of the match. Click on the 'Difficulty Level' button at the bottom of the menu.

* Improved wording on break foul in 14.1 straight pool. Message now informs player if cue ball was not sent to rail, or 2 object balls were not sent to rail.

* Fixed issue where 'F1' key (help) and 'I' key (match information) could be used during replays, leading to errors.

* Fixed issue where 'I' key could display errors when used in practice mode.

8 BALL + STRAIGHT POOL
(BALL-IN-HAND BEHIND HEADSTRING)

* Added text to 'Game Rules > General Rules' in 8 ball and straight pool, to cover fouls when player has ball-in-hand behind head string, and player is required to send cue ball over the line before contacting another ball.

* Added information box to show colour coding of aim lines for legal / illegal balls and warnings when playing behind the head string with ball-in-hand. See 'Options > Aiming > Colour Settings'.

* Aim line colour customisation and brightness settings have now been moved to the above menu.

* Added direction arrows on table as a hint, when player has ball-in-hand behind head string and cue ball is required to cross the line before hitting an object ball.

SPEED POOL

* Increased time limit from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Also increased leaderboard entry threshold limit to 15 minutes. See 'Options > Achievements > Speed Pool Times'.

* Fixed issue where snooker cue was sometimes used to play speed pool, instead of pool cue.

* Fixed issue where leaderboard qualification was not always correctly set at in-game menu at 'Options > Match Settings > Speed Pool'.

EURO 8 BALL

* Added graphic indicator to show when '2 shots' are awarded following a foul. A cue ball icon now appears in the notification capsule as a reminder.

Today we have launched a large update to Cue Club 2 on Windows PC containing an array of new features, improvements and fixes. As always, thank you for providing feedback to help us further refine the game. Download now from https://cueclub.com

AIMING

* Added option to turn off the aiming target in 3D mode. This new feature removes the round cursor, secondary and tertiary aim lines, and allows simple rotation around the cue ball when lining up shots. There is also an option to disable the primary aim line, so all visible guides can be removed.

Go to 'Options > Aiming > 3D View > Target' and select the 'Hidden' option (last in list). Target can be enabled in-game by pressing 'X' key, clicking middle mouse button, or pressing 'Y' + Left Bumper button on a gamepad. Target can be used to select a point to zoom out from and look around table (press middle mouse button again, or gamepad LB button). In Fast Aiming mode the target can also be used to nominate balls and pockets, and move balls in practice mode.

An 'X' icon in the top left corner of the screen indicates when the target is activated. The icon changes to a round target when zoom out is selected. Press 'X' key or 'Y + LB' on gamepad to de-activate target, or use mouse combination right + left button (or left + right button with Fast Aiming enabled). Note: shots cannot be played with the target on.

* In 3D mode, arrow pointer no longer jumps to target position after setting aim, which helps keep pointer away from line of sight.

* Cue now tracks target position faster and more smoothly.

MENUS

* Notification capsule now shown when in-game menu is minimised. This can help to remind players which ball group has been assigned after a foul screen is presented.

* Added selected game type to headline text in Quick Match, Bar Challenge and 2-4 player setup menus.

* Added 'Load Tournament' and 'Delete Tournament' shortcut links to 'Load Game' and 'Delete Game' menus.

* Added 'Info' button to Quick Match menu to show details about opponent with large character image.

* Added 'Play' button to Quick Match, Bar Challenge and Tournament opponent information screens.

* Greyed out 'Opponent' and 'Difficulty' settings in Quick Match when virtual players are not selected.

* Opponent info screens now show player accuracy for the difficulty level selected.

* Fixed issue where score box would sometimes remain highlighted after opening menu with 'Esc' key.

* Fixed issue where cue ball would occasionally float over table after loading a saved game, if opponent had ball-in-hand.

* Reduced instances where cue could sometimes intersect the screen in first-person camera mode.

* 'Robo-pot' AI character now drawn with correct colouring, when white dress code is selected in tournament match settings.

* 10ft pool table is now illuminated with 5 overhead lights instead of 3.

* Screen size is now restored correctly after playing a saved shot or replay, where a different screen size was used.

CAMERAS

* Added 60 and 65 degree field of view options. Reduces amount of image stretching at edges of screen and ideal for use with ultrawide monitors. See 'Options > Cameras > Field of View (3D)'.

* 3D first-person camera now remains steady when chalking, and also when accessing in-game menu.

* Improved vertical camera tracking speed when zoomed out from table using first-person camera.

* Increased speed of rotation when using gamepad right stick to rotate view around cue ball in 3D mode.

* Reset camera angle feature has been remapped from 'X' key to 'R' key.

MULTIPLAYER

* Added option to select max cue elevation in multiplayer games. Reducing this value can help prevent players from using extreme swerve shots, which may be desirable for some games, particularly snooker.

To set this parameter go to the MP lobby and click the 'next page' arrow button on the options box until you see 'Cue Height Limit'. Settings are 80, 60, 40 and 20 degrees, and the default value is 80. This is also shown in lobby invitations.

* Aim line settings in multiplayer invites are now the maximum lengths allowed for lines 1, 2 and 3, and not actual settings. This means players may use shorter lines if they prefer, as set in the main aiming menu.

* Improved layout of 'Inbox' and 'Sent' invitations text, and match details are now easier to read.

* Fixed issue where online status light would flash red for a moment when entering lobby, when a connection is established.

CHALKING

* Added manual chalking option to multiplayer. See 'Options > Tables & Equipment > Chalk > Global Settings'. There are now separate chalk application settings for offline and online games. Default setting for online play is 'Automatic'.

* Increased speed of chalking when set to 'Manual' mode, with cue returning to table a little faster.

CONTROLS

* Arrow pointer now returns to centre screen after pressing 'Play' button to shoot, when using a gamepad with large control panel setting.

* Pressing 'Y' + Right Trigger on a gamepad now opens the shot-setup box, when using large control panel setting. You can also press and hold down 'Y' button to open the box.

* Fixed issues where gamepad would not always navigate accurately to shot setup graphics for cue height, spin and power.

* Touchscreen input now allows player to look around table during shot setup by using left/right and up/down dragging motion, after pressing '3' key to zoom out.

* Added options to change gamepad thumbstick and trigger sensitivity. See 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Game Controller'.

* Added 'F1' key shortcut to open in-game help, showing keyboard, mouse and gamepad controls. Press key again to close menu.

* Remaining function keys are now mapped to 0-9 keys.

* Added 'I' key shortcut to open 'Match Information' screen. Press key again to close menu.

* Added 'M' key shortcut to minimise / maximise in-game menu.

* Left and right cursor keys (and 'A', 'D' keys) can now be used to quickly change page on menus, where page buttons are displayed. Game controller right stick also performs the same action.

* QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboards are now auto-detected after clicking 'Reset' button in 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Mouse & Keyboard > Keyboard Layout'.

A.I.

* Re-tuned AI skills so they are now slightly better at playing their favourite games. Click 'Info' button to view AI profiles in Tournament, Bar Challenge and Quick Match modes, where this information is shown.

MISCELLANEOUS

* Fixed issue where game would crash on some laptops after closing the laptop lid.

* Various improvements to localised game text.

* Other minor fixes and enhancements.
