RI 2026/415. European Communities (Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2026. Regulations published on 14th August. These Regulations amend The European Communities (Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment) Regulations 2011 (RI 2011/349). The amendment insert additional Regulations (68A to 68I) cover the enforcement processes supporting compliance.

RI 2026/362. European Union (Net-Zero Industry Act) Regulations 2026. Regulations published on 22nd July. These Regulations implement in The Republic of Ireland Regulation (EU) 2024/1735 to strengthen Europe’s net-zero technology manufacturing ecosystem and to clarify the authorities responsible for discharging the relevant obligations in Ireland under the Act.

SI 2026/896. The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) (Amendment) Order 2026. Comes into force 27th August. This Order amends Part 14 of Schedule 2 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (SI 2015/596). This amendment covers the installation and alteration of solar equipment for domestic purposes.

SI 2026/873. The Environmental Permitting (Waste Controlling or Transporting) and Relevant Functions of Primary Authorities (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2026. Comes into force 22nd July 2027. These Regulations make amendments to the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (SI 2016/1154) in relation to waste controlling activity, waste controlling-transporting activity and waste transporting activity. They also make amendments to Environmental Protection Act 1990 (A 1990 c. 43) so that the duty of care as respects waste applies to waste controlling or transporting activity and the Environment Act 1995 (A 1995 c.25) to enable costs to be recovered in relation to environmental permits for waste controlling or transporting activity.

SI 2026/867. The Supply of Machinery (Safety) (Amendment etc.) and the EU Machinery Regulation (Enforcement etc. in Northern Ireland) Regulations 2026. Comes into force 20th January 2027. These Regulations amend, for Great Britain, The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/1597). For Northern Ireland they implement the EU Machinery Regulations (EU 2023/1230).

RI 2026/338 to 344. Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) Regulations 2026 (Nos 1 to 7). Come into force 27th July. These seven sets of Regulations amend the Schedules to Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (RI 2001/600).

SI 2026/835. The Nuclear Safeguards (EU Exit and Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2026. Comes into force 10th July. These Regulations amend The Nuclear Safeguards (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/196) and The Nuclear Safeguards (Fees) Regulations 2021 (SI 2021/1406). The amendments, which are extensive, update and clarify SI 2019/196.

SI 2026/854. The Town and Country Planning (Discharge of Local Planning Authority Functions) (England) Regulations 2026. Comes into force 31st October. These Regulations require relevant local planning authorities in England (as defined by section 319ZZF(1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (A 1990 c.8) to make arrangements for specified planning functions to be discharged by committees (including sub-committees) or by officers.

SI 2026/853. The Offshore (Oil and Gas) Installation and Pipeline Abandonment Charges (Revocation) Regulations 2026. Comes into force 30th September. These Regulations revoke and replace Offshore (Oil and Gas) Installation and Pipeline Abandonment Fees Regulations 2012 (SI 2012/949). These Regulations introduce charges for or in connection with the carrying out by the Secretary of State of the Secretary of State’s functions under Part 4 of the Petroleum Act 1998 (A 1998 c.17). Part 4 of the A 1998 c.17 covers the abandonment of offshore installations and submarine pipelines. The Secretary of State may by written notice under section 29 of the Act require a person to submit a programme setting out the measures proposed to be taken in connection with the abandonment of an offshore installation or submarine pipeline.

SI 2026/848. The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 and Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 (Amendment) Regulations 2026. Comes into force 27th August. These Regulations amend Regulation 7 of Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 (SI 1994/1768) and Regulations 1 and 22 of Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/2665).
