A beautiful weekend for checking out the bespoke interpretation boards we designed and illustrated for the Tatton Garden Society, owners of The Lovell Quinta Arboretum.

The arboretum was established in the 1940s by Sir Bernard Lovell, a pioneering scientist best known for his work at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire, United Kingdom.
Today, it is cared for by the Tatton Garden Society, with a focus on biodiversity, education and public engagement.

The arboretum signage project focused on creating visually engaging, informative interpretive panels that harmonise with the natural landscape. Inspired by the surrounding environment, the designs use an organic, authentic aesthetic that complements, rather than competes with, the arboretum’s diverse treescape.

Back to School = new adventures 📚✏️

We’ve been busy working with the team at John O'Groats Mill - a newly refurbished heritage visitor attraction housed in one of Scotland’s last working watermills, to create a brand-new Teacher’s Information Pack. It’s been designed to bring the mill to life as a dynamic learning environment, linking local history, wellbeing, mathematics and STEM in meaningful, engaging ways. Whether it’s exploring heritage, problem-solving with real-world contexts, or sparking curiosity about sustainability, the mill is a place where learning truly connects.
As schools get back into the rhythm of a new year, we’re excited to see how this pack will inspire visits and creative classroom experiences. 🌾🏫

Here’s a brand-new illustration created for our latest educational resource for the London Canal Museum
It shows two boatmen using the historical technique of “legging”– a gritty, leg-powered method of propelling boats through canal tunnels, before engine-powered boats existed.
On the topic of canals, we’ll be at the Middleport Pottery Canal Festival tomorrow (Saturday 14th June) – Celebrating Stoke 100 with activities and illustrated goods.
Free entry and free parking!
