New boards just arrived today from JLCPCB - one for power distribution, the other to hold the processors and a voltage regulator. I think I now have everything to finish the Piano project. Hopefully by next week I'll have some more progress to show off again.

I don't suppose anyone on here knows much about CIS scanner devices? I'm planning my next project, I'm hoping to make a general purpose pianola roll-reader based on a scanner bar, so that I can drive the player piano with old rolls in real time. It's either that technology, or video, or individual sensors, but the problem with individual sensors is that I want to be able to handle both 88 and 65 note rolls, because I have hundreds of each.

For those of you who can't get enough of my piano shenanigans, last night I put the prototype back together having sorted out all the mechanical issues that were making the solenoids stick. Wahey! It's traditional when building these to post up a video of them playing the tune from Pirates of the Caribbean, I have no idea why.

Finally overcame the mechanical problems and got the prototype player piano working!

Spent a bit of time today resurrecting a Mini enthusiasts' site that we built for my brother just for fun back in the 90s ( https://minipark.steamdesk.com ), and a Lego reviews site that we ran for 5 years ( https://williamreviews.steamdesk.com ) primarily as a means to keeping our kids busy during the holidays.

Call me sentimental but even though they are dated I just didn't like to sit back and let them die when their owners had lost interest!

We don't just do web work - we're also very proud of the App work we have done with Eledecks over the years. One of our side projects, WilliamReviews.com is a customised WordPress blog used by our MD's kids in the holidays to showcase their Lego builds and reviews. We add time-lapse videos of the builds. The video editing is entirely by the kids, as is most of the content.

We're very pleased to be featured in the latest C4DI newsletter for the project we've been working on for Agenda Screening. A dashboard system employing Software Agents all talking to one another via SOAP APIs. It has been a really interesting job so far, hopefully with more to come as we make more, smarter Agents. Turing Test, anyone?

We were kindly invited out earlier this week to join the Eledecks team for a Christmas dinner (www.eledecks.com). We have been working for them for nearly 6 years now and have watched their business go from strength to strength.
