We are looking for a new team member: Senior Buyer/Estimator - Electronic Components.

Our procurement team manage a purchase order book in the region of £4 million GBP. Around 80% of the materials purchased are electronic components, the balance includes raw PCBs, BTO metal/plastic enclosures, cables, services and consumables.

For role, we require someone who has a deep understanding of the electronics supply chain market. A tenacious individual who can adopt ownership and provide considered improvements within our process as we expand our operation.

Brief Job Description:

Raising orders for PCBA build projects through to batch production orders.

Manging multiple projects to obtain materials to meet fixed production build plans, whilst ensuring expenditure is within the planned budget.

Working within our MRP environment, enacting works orders, BOM changes & ECNs.

Prepare material costing/quotations in line with customer requirements using Excel/ERP/MRP.

Creating detailed part numbers and multi-level BOM's.

Manging drawings and issue-controlled documents to place RFQ's and raise purchase orders for BTO items.

Working with our planning and material departments to ensure inventory is available on-time and to the required specification.

Managing scheduled orders for medium volume production, based on forecasted production builds.

Engaging and managing suppliers for price negotiation, delivery and supply terms.

Working with ITAR, obsolescence, life cycle, permits, ECR's and technical queries direct with customers.

Working with the purchasing manager to continuously review internal processes and create opportunities for measured improvement.

Deputising for the purchasing manager.

Employee Requirements:

Minimum 5+ years purchasing experience and 3 years within a similar role.

Understanding of resistor and capacitor values.

Full understanding of the electronic component distribution market.

Excellent IT Skills, particularly MS Excel.
Excellent communication skills with customers and suppliers.

Experience of stock control/MRP systems.

Under 45 minutes distance from our offices, under usual travelling conditions.

Advancing capability & capacity for 2021. We're pleased to update our customers and followers with the latest news from Gemini Tec Ltd.

We have a further 10,000 sqft expansion underway at our facility in Hampshire, to help more customers enjoy the very latest capability in PCBA production.

A new surface mount line is being installed to suit 'ultra high mix' production, complete with solder paste jet printing and advanced reflow techniques using vapour phase & nitrogen (N2) technology.

We are looking for additional candidates to work in our purchasing team and the role covers several small critical tasks.

• Raising and placing of purchase orders.
• Obtaining order acknowledgements from suppliers, updating ERP.
• Progressing purchase orders for key materials and talking to suppliers to ensure delivery dates are achieved.
• Producing set reports on material ‘works order status ‘supplying updates into our planning department.
• Assisting with booking in materials, kitting of small electronic components for manufacture.
• Purchasing of non-stock items, consumables.
• Obtaining prices and lead times for materials/components with suppliers.
• Creating part numbers and supplier costings/lead times within MRP.
• Creating spreadsheets with costing information.

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years office based administrative experience.
• IT experience with MS Excel, O365.
• Good communication skills with suppliers.
• Accuracy with part numbers and data.
• Organised with methodical approach.
• Working to deadlines, handling multiple small tasks.
• Purchasing experience ideal, but not essential.
