2026 is the year for trying new techniques and mediums. I’ve only done a handful of oil paintings so I chose a favourite photo from a trip to Kiftsgate Court Gardens on Claire’s birthday and came up with this over the weekend. Really pleased with the result and surprised how much I enjoyed doing it - next up it’s sculpture for February.

I’ve been following Zach Lincoln on Facebook who is documenting his family’s move from the US to Europe and yesterday I actually bumped into him in Oxford. Luckily I had a couple of my Oxford colouring books to give to his kids for Christmas. It looks like they’re making use of them already.

One customer for my Radcliffe Camera Christmas Cake cards told me yesterday that these were the perfect cards for him as he worked in a local bakery. We’re down to the last three packs

My ‘Radcliffe Camera Christmas Cake’ cards are proving popular this year. I was even asked to sign a whole pack (on the back, of course) by a shopper who told me they’d be worth more now. Exclusively available at Broad Canvas art shop, Oxford.

Sad to hear of the passing of Jane Goodall. She features in an upcoming American book that I’m illustrating about eminent female scientists. Each person is imagined as a child, playing at the subject which they will, one day, excel in. In this case, Jane is shown with her favourite toy: Mr H, the monkey.

As a cartoonist, I was disturbed to hear of the censorship and cancellation of late night satirical comedy shows in America. If they cancel them, who is next? Hopefully, this cartoon shines a light on who is behind it all... if we didn't already know.
