Hello to all community leaders.
My name is Tom Burke & I run a local computing technology company called atomitek digital solutionz (in Towyn) .
As you are probably aware, online fraud & technology based scams are unfortunately becoming very prominent in the modern era. Criminal individuals & organisations are targeting the most susceptible members of society with a barrage of various nefarious techniques that are designed to do one thing; defraud people into handing over their money.
I have worked within the computing technology industry in various positions for over 20 years & even I’m shocked at the level of sophistication associated with undertaking some of these scams.
The individuals/groups that are devising & instigating these illicit activities are completely heartless, causing distress & misery to those who they manage to pull into their web of lies & deceit.
I feel that it is my duty to the local community to help in educating those most at risk to the dangers involved with this most modern type of criminality.
I would therefore like to offer my time & expertise for free in a partnership with local community leaders & activists to help inform those most at risk to the current dangers associated with these scams & other fraudulent undertakings. I can also offer information on how people can increase their online security for free or at minimal cost.
This endeavour is not about boring people with long, complicated lectures about the intricacies of modern technologies. I would just like to inform members of the community of the most common scams currently being undertaken & offer a short set of rules as a useful guide to assist when operating online or interacting with unknown individuals or entities.
As previously mentioned, I’m more than happy to offer my services for free but require the help of prominent community members to help in organising some short informational sessions & possibly some workshops.
