In today’s Motion Monday, we’re exploring why some balls bounce higher than others 🏀⚙️

Three different balls. Same drop height. Same surface.

The only thing that changes is their coefficient of restitution: a measure of how much energy they return after impact.

The result? Small differences in energy recovery create dramatically different bounce heights 🔄

In today’s Motion Monday, we’re looking at how to make motion work… even when things aren’t perfectly aligned ⚙️

This Oldham coupling transmits rotation between two parallel but misaligned shafts using a floating center disc that slides in two perpendicular directions 🔄

The result?
A smooth 1:1 rotation while continuously compensating for the offset.

Instead of forcing precision, the mechanism adapts to it.

For the AAKRUTI Global Competition 2024, Sumit Sarkar and his team, Delta, tackled a major challenge: energy waste on rugged roads.
Their solution? The HexaEnergy Tyre. 🛠️

By harvesting energy from road undulations, which are common in developing nations, this project is making sustainable mobility a reality. This isn't just a tyre; it’s a system designed to reduce dependency on main battery sources and cut carbon footprints by powering auxiliary systems directly from the road. 🔋
