Is your internet slow? Are you happy with your service? Need help finding out about fibre? Does your streaming buffer on Youtube, Prime or Netflix, etc? Does your WIFI (network) make the best of your internet speed – an often confused situation!?

Hello everyone....Having found new higher speed and mobile solutions for clients recently, I thought it a good idea to promote greater awareness of better solutions! Several people have asked about cheaper mobile and temporary internet for 2nd homes.

In rural Normandy we’ve all had the pain of really slow speeds over the years, but new solutions do exist for those still finding their internet speeds too slow!

Many don't realise fibre is now local, that new satellite offers can help, and even mobile solutions that can cost less per month for satisfactory speeds....!

Security cameras!? Concerned about home security or animals? Are you a second home owner? Do you visit the UK often? Do you have gites or outbuildings and other property you need to monitor?

I thought it a good idea to tell you that securing your property with a low cost security camera is very easy now...

I have installed both wifi and networked security cameras with really good results. The latest multi-function, high-resolution cameras also now detect sound for example. And....You can talk back on the camera! They also have a warning siren if needed.

The systems are great quality and won’t break the bank. Solar powered models allow easy coverage of distant places, without the need for an electric supply.

Best of all you can receive alerts to your mobile even when overseas, etc.

Are you having issues with Facebook? Email accounts? Etc. Are you safe online? Are your email accounts and logins (E.g. Microsoft, Apple, Shopping) properly setup? (For security and recovery!)

Hello everyone....

I have had several instances recently (very frustrating for clients) where online accounts are not properly configured, for security or recovery....Or clients have been locked out.

When things are OK we can become complacent and do not check that our details are correct, for when something goes wrong. (Passwords out of date in your records, contact details from UK, old phone numbers, etc.)

All online accounts now have greater security and if you forget or don't update details you can get locked out, which can be really exasperating.

That’s when I get called....”How do I have the patience?”, I am often asked, in trying to deal with Facebook, Google, Microsoft or Apple security.

Prevent the anguish by having me help you check your email and other online accounts for correct setup, etc.

Is your laptop or desktop PC slow???! (Smart phone phone or tablet clogged??) If so it could be a good time to consider a Spring Clean!

Hello everyone....why not consider getting your computer/s and tech checked over.....not only for system issues like slowing down and corruptions, but also physical checks for overheating, possible upgrades, etc.

Once again, I am offering to do this for a special price of 45 euros plus a fuel contribution if I visit you (for the month of March). (This is for one device but I will adjust price fairly if more than one).

Is your PC or laptop at risk of overheating? Is it slow? Heat can damage internal components and cause failure!

A cautionary note this week after stripping down more computers recently and finding them all clogged with dust....which greatly increases the risk of poor air circulation and electrical issues.

After many years I have learned that houses in Normandy with old beams, wood fires, pets and building work, etc., can mean computers which suck in air to cool are blocked up. The resulting poor performance and issues can reduce the life of your equipment, or worse, cause it to stop working suddenly.

It is not good to just hoover the back, which can in fact cause static and do greater damage.

It is very important to get your computers internally cleaned properly. Please get in touch if your laptop or computer is running hot (or noisy).

Once a year consider a check inside your kit.
