Farm labour shortages are already here.

Three things that stood out:

- Computer vision has moved from novelty to necessity. Robots spotting pests, disease, and yield potential plant by plant are running on working farms now, not in labs.

- The labour case is as strong as the yield case. A University of Waterloo researcher notes many Canadian farmers work 14-hour days. Automation isn't about cutting headcount. It's about making the job sustainable.

- Plant-level data helps growers determine where to focus time and inputs to get the best returns while being much more efficient.

We're seeing the same pattern in orchards with our XV4 camera system: growers adopting AI not because it's novel, but because it solves problems human scale never could.

The growers who win the next decade will be the ones who figure out how to improve margins by using AI to reduce costs while also improving yield.

Last week, our Founder, Jenny Lemieux, was in Paris attending , one of the world’s largest technology conferences.

Jenny joined a panel hosted by the Embassy of Canada in France to discuss what it takes for Canadian AI companies to compete and scale on the global stage.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with innovators, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world while showcasing the strength of Canada’s AI ecosystem.

The conversations throughout the week reinforced that the future of AI is global, and we’re proud to be helping shape it from Canadian agriculture outward.
