🔋🤝 Une filière batterie française plus forte se construit aussi dans sa chaîne d’approvisionnement. Comment la rendre plus locale, plus résiliente et plus compétitive ? Quels partenariats industriels pour y parvenir ?

Ces questions étaient au cœur des Rendez-vous , organisés hier par ADI Nouvelle-Aquitaine et la Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Nicolas Château, responsable achats chez Saft, est intervenu lors d’une conférence consacrée au développement d’une chaîne d’approvisionnement plus locale, plus résiliente et plus compétitive, ainsi qu’au rôle des partenariats industriels dans le renforcement de l’écosystème batterie en France et en Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

🏭 Les échanges se sont poursuivis sur notre site de Nersac, où plusieurs participants ont découvert les technologies de batteries développées et produites localement, notamment celles qui équiperont les trains de demain en France.

De la chaîne d’approvisionnement aux applications ferroviaires, cette journée a illustré les liens indispensables entre fournisseurs, fabricants et clients pour construire une filière française solide et compétitive.

🔋🇫🇷 We’re proud to announce the signing of two battery energy storage projects with Axpo Group in , representing a total of 122 MWh of storage capacity.

The projects will help strengthen grid stability, provide energy arbitrage services by enabling value creation from fluctuations in electricity prices, and support the integration of renewable energy into the French power system.

Located in Normandy and Centre-Val de Loire regions, the two projects will be powered by Saft's Intensium® Flex battery storage technology.

These projects also highlight the strategic value of French battery expertise. Seeing energy storage systems engineered in France deployed to strengthen the resilience, and flexibility of the French power grid is a great source of pride for our teams.

As part of Sustainab’ALL Day, an annual event dedicated to TotalEnergies’ global sustainability initiative, our Saft team in Oskarshamn, Sweden, was proud to join colleagues across the company in demonstrating that sustainability is a shared commitment at every level of the organization. 🇸🇪

On this occasion, we were pleased to welcome Nicolas WAWRESKY, Senior Vice President HSE for the GRP branch, and Gilles Heschleger, Corporate HSE Director at Saft, for a visit of our site.

♻️ A highlight of the visit was our Nickel-based battery recycling workshop, where batteries brought back through various collection networks across Europe are recycled and valuable materials are recovered so they can be reused in the production of new batteries. This is a tangible example of the circular economy in action and of our commitment to reducing waste and preserving resources throughout the battery lifecycle.

A big thank you to Nicolas and Gilles for their visit, and to all our employees whose daily commitment helps make sustainability a reality at Saft.

A new step forward for sodium-ion batteries! Proud to announce that Saft has signed a Joint Development Agreement with Mana Battery to advance next-generation anode-free sodium-ion battery technology. 🤝

By combining Mana Battery’s breakthrough electrolyte and cell technology with Saft’s expertise in cell design, manufacturing and qualification, we aim to accelerate the development of safer, high-performance battery solutions for defense, aerospace, rail, datacenter and industrial UPS applications.
