We are thrilled to offer you an exclusive sneak peak at our new project!
Bringing together our genuine passions, we are introducing a new HEC club - Nexus - your bridge between Technology and Business.
We believe that technology will have a fundamental impact on every single industry in the near future, and that it will create new ones. Disruption will become the norm, and we want everyone at HEC to be ready to seize the countless opportunities that will arise.
Sounds vague?
So here is the deal: we have already identified a large set of diverse trends which are extremely hot and yet -we think- somehow poorly understood. Every week, we will cover one of them, and we will publish a visual, easy-to-read report on what the trend is, why it is important, what technologies support it, what are its business implications and who is investing in it. Consider it a handy cheat sheet: it might not land you a job, but it will help you stay up-to-date and have some hard facts to lean on during interviews or tough cocktail parties (the best ones).
The structure of the reports will assume a standard shape over time, as we understand which sections result more interesting, which is why we would love to have your feedback!
After a couple of issues we will host an open event on campus to discuss the different themes with you and to go into more detail. As the project takes off, we are confident that we’ll be able to attract great speakers, industry experts and guests to animate our discussions, so your involvement will be crucial.
Want more? That’s not all! On a more practical side, we will also be launching a series of friendly workshops to practice with some software technologies and get real hands-on experience. We will be more precise in the coming weeks, just know that we are working on a pizza-and-code format, and both experts and novices will be welcome!
We want Nexus to be as open and informal as possible, because that’s how we think it will be valuable.
Everyone is welcome to participate and contribute their views, insights, expertise and curiosity!
So what can you do? A lot, actually: you can write us for feature requests and suggestions on both the topics we cover and the software that you would like to practise.
