# A Busy Week on the Road
We have recently been away for a full week working on a number of specialist projects, including a professional Starlink Marine installation for a customer preparing for extended coastal and offshore travel.
The installation required more than simply mounting the Starlink equipment. Because every vessel is different, a custom-made marine-grade mounting bracket was designed and fabricated specifically for the boat. This allowed the Starlink antenna to be positioned securely while clearing the existing equipment and solar panels.
The completed installation included careful antenna positioning, secure installation of the custom mount, power integration, professional cable routing, onboard Wi-Fi configuration and full system testing.
The aim was to provide reliable, high-speed internet for communications, navigation information, weather updates, entertainment and general connectivity while the vessel is in port or travelling at sea.
Starlink Marine is becoming an increasingly important solution for pleasure boats, yachts, commercial vessels and customers planning longer journeys. However, every installation must be designed around the vessel, its power system, available mounting positions, cable routes and the customer’s intended use.
# # Next Stop: The Disneyland Paris Area
Next week, we will be travelling to the Disneyland Paris area to carry out a full professional site survey for a proposed backup Starlink internet system.
The purpose of the survey is not only to identify a technically suitable installation position, but also to ensure that the final system does not negatively affect the appearance of the surrounding environment or create an unwanted visual impact for visitors.
The survey will therefore consider both technical performance and aesthetics. This includes assessing discreet mounting positions, suitable cable routes, containment methods, building-entry points and equipment locations that allow the system to remain as unobtrusive as possible.
The objective is to provide dependable backup internet while protecting the visual character of the site and maintaining the high presentation standards expected within a major visitor environment.
As part of our commercial work, we carry out full site surveys, obstruction checks, cable-route planning, mounting assessments, power checks, risk assessments, working-at-height reviews and photographic documentation. We also gather the information required to support landlord approval, wayleave documentation and final installation design.
Where required, our reports and supporting technical documents can be prepared in both English and French. This is particularly valuable for clients, contractors and organisations working across borders between the United Kingdom and France.
# # Three Specialist Businesses Moving Forward Together
As part of our continued growth, Smart Connectique, Smart Home France and Smart Ferme are now being brought together as one expanding technical group.
For the past ten years, Smart Home France has established itself as Normandy’s leading provider of English Freesat television services. During that time, the business has helped customers across the region receive reliable UK television through professionally installed satellite systems.
Alongside English Freesat television, Smart Home France has also built a strong reputation for the installation of CCTV systems, alarm systems, Wi-Fi networks and connectivity solutions for homes and businesses throughout Normandy.
Smart Connectique is now expanding this established service with a greater focus on Starlink, marine connectivity, commercial internet systems, data networks, professional site surveys and fully documented technical projects.
Smart Ferme adds a dedicated agricultural division focused on farm connectivity, automated-farming infrastructure and farm security.
Modern farms increasingly rely on stable and dependable network connections to support automatic and robotic milking equipment, including systems from manufacturers such as Lely and BouMatic.
Reliable connectivity is essential for monitoring, alerts, remote access, equipment management and the day-to-day operation of these systems. Smart Ferme is focused on designing robust network infrastructure that can operate across farmhouses, offices, milking areas, barns, workshops, livestock buildings and storage areas.
Farm environments often present difficult technical conditions, including thick stone walls, metal buildings, long distances and multiple separate structures. Standard domestic Wi-Fi systems are therefore rarely sufficient. Each agricultural installation must be designed around the site layout, working requirements and future expansion needs.
Smart Ferme also provides farm-security solutions, including CCTV, remote monitoring, wireless links between buildings, rural Starlink installations, backup internet, data cabling and extended Wi-Fi coverage across yards and agricultural buildings.
# # Growing Through New Clients and New Projects
We are very pleased with the way our expansion is progressing and with the number of new residential, commercial, marine and agricultural clients now choosing to work with us.
Our projects are becoming increasingly varied and technically demanding. They now range from custom Starlink Marine installations and rural farm networks to commercial backup systems, professional site surveys, bilingual documentation and full risk assessments.
Bringing Smart Connectique, Smart Home France and Smart Ferme together allows us to offer a broader and more complete service while maintaining the specialist knowledge, experience and reputation behind each area of the business.
The transition will take place gradually, and the existing business names will continue to be used throughout the merger period.
It has been a busy and productive week, and there is plenty more ahead as the three businesses continue to grow and move forward together.
