Palazzolo Institute - Don Gnocchi, Milan

ZR Light delivered a new, fully flexible lighting system for the church inside the Palazzolo Institute, a unique space connected directly to hospital wards on multiple floors.

The design uses 230V tracks, projectors with varied optics, and a DALI setup managed by Salvador 1016 units, combined with individual Casambi control for more than 200 luminaires.

The result: simple, reliable scene management for liturgies, patient prayer, and day–night use - all easily handled by the parish priest.

San Vivaldo - The “Jerusalem of Tuscany”

The Sacro Monte di San Vivaldo near Montaione is a unique complex of chapels built in the early 1500s to recreate Jerusalem for pilgrims who couldn’t travel there. Today, 18 chapels with 16th-century terracotta artworks from the Robbia school remain intact.

ZR Light recently redesigned the lighting for the first seven chapels as part of a wider restoration. The new scheme minimizes visual impact, protects the artworks, and enhances the narrative experience with discreet 48V systems, high-CRI projectors, and a DALI setup with Casambi Salvador products.

A sensitive upgrade that brings renewed clarity and atmosphere to a historic spiritual site.

Lighting in gyms is often an afterthought, yet it plays a crucial role in creating an environment that supports both physical and mental well-being.

Romano Baratta Lighting Studio was commissioned by Action Fit to create a gym in Milan that would set a new benchmark for atmosphere and experience. Their approach was rooted in research across psychology, physiology, and anthropology - designing lighting scenes that help users transition mentally from the outside world into focused training, recovery, or performance mode.

From the calming blue hues of the cardio zone to the intense reds of the weightlifting area, every space is carefully tuned to the activity it hosts. Even the functional training area makes deliberate use of light and shadow to support coordination and concentration.

All lighting scenes and effects were programmed using the Casambi App, allowing for easy control and fine-tuning by gym staff. All luminaires by formalighting.

Preserving Heritage, Elevating Ambiance: Harrods Dining Hall, London

The historic Harrods Dining Hall has been transformed into a stunning culinary destination that celebrates both heritage and innovation. With its listed architecture untouched, original tiles, walls, and ceilings preserved, Casambi’s wireless lighting control brought modern flexibility without the need for new cabling.

From ultra-narrow, high-CRI downlights highlighting each dish to bespoke fluted glass luminaires and decorative globes echoing the hall’s history, every layer of light is carefully crafted to enhance the dining experience.
