Founded in Kyoto in 2013, MITTAN creates clothing inspired by the history and cultures of garments from around the world.
⁡
Natural materials, traditional techniques, relaxed silhouettes and a largely unisex approach are at the heart of the brand — clothes made to be worn and lived in for many years.

MITTAN also looks beyond the moment of purchase, offering repair, re-dyeing and buyback services to extend the life of its garments. While these services are currently mainly available in Japan, the brand is exploring ways to expand them overseas in the future.

Our connection with 'Kitagama' goes back to our years working in Japan, and it has been a very special pottery to us ever since. This summer, we finally had the chance to visit in person.
