2 days until first language cafés of Nordic Day 2026!

Over 100 people have already signed up for this year’s Nordic Day language cafés 🥳 Norwegian and Swedish are fully booked on Sunday, but you can still tune in for fika and fjords by claiming a spot for Monday!

This year’s Nordic Day language café event is again turning into a global phenomenon. While most participants are from Nordic countries, we have received bookings from as far as North America, Africa, and Southeast Asia 🌍

There are 9 different languages you can practice online with fellow Nordics this year: Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Faroese, Greenlandic, Northern Sámi, and Elfdalian.

This event is open and free to everyone, and we will host two sessions in each language:

1st language café: on Sunday 22.3. at 14:00–15:00 (Central European Time)
2nd language café: on Monday 23.3. at 18:00–19:00 (Central European Time)

Hejsan! I’m Thomas, a half-Dutch, Swedish-speaking Finn currently living in Germany. I originate from a small city in Ostrobothnia, Finland and host language cafés in Swedish, Finnish and German (for now 😉).

My language cafés follow one simple blueprint: staying curious 🔍 I encourage all participants to bring their inner child out when discussing with each other, daring to ask questions and to learn more about the world around them in a fun way. Discussions flow on naturally, the most important thing is that every participant is heard and can share their own experiences.

Growing up in a bilingual family, doing an exchange in French-speaking Canada, having been an exchange tutor for two years as well as moving to a foreign country, I have learned that language learning is much more than just the language itself. It is immersion in cultures, creating new meaningful connections and discovering that everyone has a story to tell 📖

Ciao! I’m Kasper, your language café host in English, Spanish, French, and Italian, from Turku, Finland. The purpose of my language cafés is always to create the right atmosphere ✨ If the groovy music and the cozy café space don’t make you want to sit back in your chair, it’s going to be the other people. Thanks to the free-flowing chats, topics are as surprising to me as they are to anyone else. However, if you ask me, I could go on about language learning, travel, and the human mind 🤓

My life journey is imprinted with languages, and I’m immensely grateful for the adventures they have taken me from experiencing high school life in Western NY to medieval Tuscany to French Canada. So far my curiosity for languages and the people I’ve met thanks to them have taken me on living experiences in a total of seven countries. Can you guess which ones?

My name is Yevheniia, and I’m the new Brand Development & Partnerships Trainee at Articulatte!

I’m a Master’s student at and a huge fan of activism and communications.

Current Language Status: 🇺🇦 Ukrainian & 🇬🇧 English: ✅; 🇫🇷 French: un peu 🤏 🇫🇮 Finnish: vähän 🤏

For the last 2 years I have been studying “Contemporary Societies,” so I can explain complex social behaviors if you wake me up in the middle of the night... but I’m still trying to figure out all those Finnish cases 🤷‍♀️📚

Next stop: Sweden? 🇸🇪🚀

We had a great time at the Grow in Sweden kick-off event last week! It was inspiring to meet the mentors and other startups joining us on this journey.

Articulatte was born out of a love for connecting people across borders, and thanks to the mentorship programme, we are one step closer to bringing our language cafés to the land of Fika. Since "fika" is all about slowing down to connect with others over a cup of coffee, we think our concept will feel right at home there.

☕️ Big things are brewing (pun intended). Tack så mycket for the opportunity!
