What a busy couple of last months! As 2022 is now fully underway we just wanted to say a belated thank you to Slush that SharkGate took part in at the end of 2021! We had such a blast. 🥳 So many great conversations and meetings with so many people and great companies. 👍 Let's keep innovating, for the world! And see you next time

Thank goodness 2020 is behind us and as we brace ourselves for what 2021 may bring it’s time to reflect and adjust. Just as you consider your health after weeks of festivities (time to dig out the exercise bike?), the same can be said about cyber-security especially if

We’ve covered the topic of the importance of a firewall many times, however - it is important to understand the services and features including with the firewall package. Many providers out there - promise the world but deliver frustration and pain! Here is a number of tips on

SharkGate attendded Slush 2019. Some would say only a weirdo would come over to Helsinki in November but it was definitely worth it – so call us weirdos!

We survived – thanks Slush for a wonderful time and organization! Who says work and fun don’t mix 😛

As 2019 rolls in we just wanted to drop a quick mention about what a great week the SharkGate / OneHourSiteFix team had at the end of last year in Helsinki for Slush 2018!

SharkGate was very proud to be part of Slush, which is one of the world’s leading tech and startup events attracting 1000s of tech heads, investors and global leaders.

We just loved the fact that Slush feels more like a giant celebration of tech and innovation for leading startups rather than just a conference. 🎉

SharkGate had the exciting opportunity to showcase the SharkGate ( https://www.sharkgate.net ) & OneHourSiteFix ( https://www.onehoursitefix.com ) offerings at our booth that we ran on day two of the conference where all the attendants of Slush could stop by and talk to us about our leading firewall and malware removal services.

The SharkGate and OneHourSiteFix team made hundreds of new connections and had excellent discussions with numerous investors and companies that loved to hear about how we are helping change the IT security industry for the better.

Here is a cool link to Slush 2018 in 100 pictures https://www.flickr.com/photos/slushmedia/albums/72157704414294365

Thank you to everyone we had the chance to meet at Slush! If we have not already been back in touch, then we would still love to hear back from you, so please do reach out to continue the discussion. We’re already looking forward to Slush 2019! 🚀 Let's stay in touch!!

The records of 500 million customers of the hotel group Marriott International have been involved in a data breach.

The hotel chain said the guest reservation database of its Starwood division had been compromised by an unauthorized party. It said an internal investigation found an attacker had been able to access the Starwood network since 2014 !! It looks like Marriot had encrypted payment card information, but it also seems likely they left the encryption keys next to the encrypted data which is like locking the door of your house but putting the keys under the mat.

It is so important these days to use a website firewall like SharkGate (https://www.sharkgate.net) to protect your site. Also, make sure that firewall includes sophisticated data breach monitors as the SharkGate does. Plus it is so important to get a team of security experts like the OneHourSiteFix team ( https://www.onehoursitefix.com - One Hour Site Fix) to do a full scan of your website to ensure the hackers are not already on there and are hidden away with all their tools.

An interesting quote from James Snook (Deputy director of business, crime and skills in the office for cybersecurity) that it would be good for all business owners to read and take seriously

“My message for companies that think they haven’t been attacked is: “You’re not looking hard enough”.

FYI here are 16 stores in the last year, that if you have shopped at your data might have been stolen

More than 30% of all websites on the internet are powered by the Wordpress CMS ( https://wordpress.org/about/features/) So the first version of our new SharkGate Plugin (endpoint protection, installed directly on websites) is for the Wordpress CMS. It is also the most common type of website targeted by hackers. Website owners for all other types of websites have no need to worry though as they will not be left out, as shortly after the Wordpress release, we will be releasing versions for all the other content management systems (CMS) and a general one that works for any website that is not a standard CMS.

Equifax hit with UK fine after huge data hack

https://www.ft.com/content/007b257c-bc28-11e8-8274-55b72926558f

A critical vulnerability in its systems exposed information belonging to 146 million people around the world, mostly in the US.

They should have used SharkGate (https://www.sharkgate.net) to stop this from happening, especially as they had been warned by the authorities. Let's hope they also turned to experts like our malware removal service OneHourSiteFix (https://www.onehoursitefix.com) to clean up their systems from all infections and backdoors once the breach was found.
