We ended up automating the case interview: candidates get a realistic work session — real documents, an AI assistant, colleagues who reply — and we watch what they do, not what they say about themselves.
What you see: people identical on paper split within minutes. Some read before answering; some improvise with total confidence. We plant realistic contradictions in the documents, and watching who checks before acting is the closest thing hiring has to an honesty meter. It shows up on no CV.
And every CV now says "proficient with AI" — a phrase as informative as "team player." Watch someone work with an AI for 30 minutes and you see the real split: who asks it to think for them, and who uses it to move faster while checking its output.
