Terrasolid is pleased to recognize our colleague, Dr. Anna Shcherbacheva, who has been named a Geospatial World Rising Star 2026
Anna’s professional path spans from applied mathematical modeling across diverse domains to her current work in GeoAI at Terrasolid, where she joined in 2024. Prior to this, she developed her expertise in research-oriented AI applications for LiDAR data at NLS Finnish Geospatial Research Institute FGI.

At Terrasolid, Anna contributes to the development of Machine Learning methods for object detection, tree species classification, and instance segmentation, alongside advancing tools for working with complex, unstructured 3D data.

The Geospatial World Rising Stars initiative by Geospatial World highlights emerging professionals shaping the future of geospatial technology. The award ceremony took place during Geospatial World Forum 2026 in Amsterdam.

We are proud to have Anna as part of our team and look forward to her continued contributions in the years ahead.

This year we celebrate 30 years of TerraScan!
Over the years, the technology has evolved, the datasets have grown, and the challenges have become more complex. Through it all, TerraScan has adapted and advanced alongside the industry.
This milestone wouldn’t be possible without our customers, partners and the fantastic Terrasolid team!

Check our latest technical note about full E57 support in TerraScan and TerraPhoto (in the comments and stories). 👇

TerraScan version 026.003 introduces full support for E57 file format. E57 format is mostly used by terrestrial LiDAR scanners and 3D cameras from Leica, FARO, Trimble, Matterport and Z+F. E57 is an open file format because it is not tied to any specific measuring device or manufacturer. E57 supports both Cartesian and spherical coordinates. E57 files also include metadata and images of the scans.

Check out our new YouTube video demonstration on how to match mobile lidar to Deutsche Bahn signals (the link is available either in the comments or in the new Stories).

Matching is based on an automatic search which finds signals in the point based on text file giving coordinate position and bolt length for each signal.
User can check automatically found positions and fix the observation manually where needed.
Adjustment to control coordinates can be run as an xyz correction changing over time or as a rubbersheet xyz correction chaning based on xy location.
