On May 12, we celebrated the opening of our second Bluefors Lab in Chicago, located at Hyde Park Labs within the UChicago Science Incubator.
The Bluefors Lab expands access to cryogenic measurement infrastructure. With a fully equipped lab and on-site expertise, it supports startup product development, collaboration, and experimentation within quantum technology fields.
The opening event brought together members of the quantum ecosystem across startups, academia, and industry. The program began with remarks from Samir Mayekar, Managing Director of the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, University of Chicago, and Sauli Sinisalo, Vice President & General Manager at Bluefors.
A panel discussion, From Measurement to Market: Enabling the Next Wave of Quantum Startups, explored how shared infrastructure can accelerate quantum hardware development and commercialization. Moderated by Tamanna Joshi, Senior Technical Sales Manager at Bluefors, the discussion featured:
🔹 Anna Grassellino, Director, SQMS Center, Fermilab
